10% Off ONLINE Redline Products

Redline Products
www.myoilshop.com

Enter dealer code #675421 for 10% off.

I talked to the owner and tried to get more of a discount, but she said shipping costs would not allow more than 10%. The dealer code has been on the net for awhile and in the 5th gen Parts sticky, but I figured a few of you may have not know about it.

For those in the bay area, CA, Redline oil is also sold locally here in San Jose for $6.95/qt (for motor oil and MT-90) at Winchester Auto. Total came up to be $7.52 with tax.

Why? It's cheaper online, they have MORE products than any local shops carry, and it's shipped to my door.

I ordered:
Kart Oil
1 22.00 22.00
SI-1
2 5.00 10.00
High Performance Motor Oil - 10W40
5 7.00 35.00
High Performance Motor Oil - 10W30
5 7.00 35.00
Dealer Discount: (10%) - $ 10.20
Sub Total: $ 91.80
Shipping Total: 34.5 lbs (FedEx Ground) $ 11.80
Grand Total: $ 103.60

Speaking of Redline, I'm about ready to change out my auto tranny fluid and am wondering if the Redline is better than the Amsoil synthetic. Looks like I can get the Amsoil for about $6 a quart so cost is probably a wash. Definitely could use some of the Water wetter. Anyway, thanks in advance for your thoughts!

Supposedly both are GREAT products. I've known/heard about Redline long before I knew about Amsoil, so I'm a little impartial. I've talked to MANY racers who use/abuse Redline and the stuff just works. I've personally used the Redline race oil in mini-Kart engines and I've seen the difference it makes under EXTREME conditions, since we tear down the engine after every race.

Oil analysis is the only way to know which is truely better, but I don't believe enough transmission test have been done to compare yet. For the ultimate protection go with Redline, but Amsoil appears to be able to handle long term use equally well. It's just a question of whether Amsoil PROTECTS as well as Redline.

I ordered last night.

Why would you only put a "couple caps" of water wetter? I'd put the whole bottle in. Ideally, you want to run 100% Water(no antifreeze) and a bottle of water wetter, but because of the A/C condenser, you want to at least run 30% Antifreeze. If you live where it gets pretty cold, you should stick with 50/50 and a bottle of water wetter.

hmm...my boss was telling me that..with bringing down the temperature significantly....wouldnt that have some sort of negative effect on the comubstion process?...I just thought it would be a good idea to have my engine running a little cooler since i drive close to 60 miles a day..every day..

It's NOT that good!

Your thermostat will regulate temperature to keep the combustion temps where they were designed to be.

Read the tech info on what Water Wetter really does:

I just ordered 3 bottles. Man what a deal they had. 5$ a bottle and 10% off on top of this. Gonna try it and see if i notice results. From what I hear, Redline is pretty good stuff. It even has it's own part # at BMW dealers for use on their vehicles

Alex,

I do think that both are fantastic products. I do believe, however that Amsoil takes the edge in protection over Redline. Redline is geared more towards outright performance, while Amsoil formulates for maximum protection.

Below are comments that Sin made in another recent thread. The entire thread is:http://forums.maxima.org/showthread....hreadid=170508 and has more data as to why as well.

BTW, for those who aren't aware, my discounts on Amsoil products run between 20-25% off retail pricing.

He is using MT-90 as well, and yes I drove his car, and yes it is smoother than factory fill, but NO it is not as smooth as Series 2000.

BTW, I've raced this stuff before in Formula SAE cars, and I can tell you right now, even the non-Series 2000 stuff protects trannies better than the MT-90. We do strip downs all the time, and the MT-90 trannies never looked as good as the AMSOIL, although we have found minimal gains in output with the MT-90 over the non-2000, but then again, we have found gains in the 2000 over the MT-90.
