PIAA 1700X, Baaaaaad!

Yup, the 1700x foglight series as shown in my sig pic are bad. I took them out and gave them to my cousin, since I had HIDs and the foglights were not worknig for a few weeks and I would not need them anymore, thinking the bulb needs to be replaced. It turns out the bulb is fine, but the metal contact part are all oxidized. He had to dip it in a special solution to get rid of the oxidation. Still, even if he replaced the part for it, he cannot put anything to shield it from whatever causes this, since these parts will get hot. I have not idea if anyother PIAA aftermarket fog/driving lights are like this, but I know one fellow Orgy'er had the same series I had. No more PIAAs for me, fo sure.
