I wonder what would happen if you crashed into the car on purpose... if you were driving a beater and wanted to see the car in person? What would they do? You would think they would have to pull over, but would they risk it for you to be able to be that close to the car and look under the hood? hmmmm.........

I do hope they do some serious trimming on that car Brian spotted though - it's pretty round. Like an inflated Altima...

Mr. Nismo... check your PM. I never said Brian photoshopped those photo's. I posted my *own photoshopped* photo's based on Brian collateral in response to requests to fix the grill/pillar/taillights.
If you'll look at the photo's that i posted, they are slightly different from the originals posted by Greg.
Before you make a fool out of yourself and assuming that i said what you think i said, check for facts.
Have a nice day.

GS400/430 wannabe?
I don't like the new max. But.....
The more I look at it, the more it resembles GS400/430.
New max is moving up a level, so maybe Nissan wanna compete it against the GS, both interior and exterior? If not, the new 'I' from Infiniti probably will (if it comes out in the future).

its a covered up prototype
-the door handles look like the 350Z style
-the tails (with the covers taken off). are the right size and shape to mimic the altima
-the rear window line is obviously being hidden but it will look kinda like the G35 / altima
-the front will look a lot better once they put the real grill on it
way too many people in this thread don't understand what they are looking at I guess. the car shows signs that it will be a very nice clean car

you know, i still think that the new maxima is going to be a cross between the new altima and the infinity g35. i like the tail lights of the altima, but the drivetrain of the g35. the tails on the g35 look like the tails on the drop top lexus, fugly...

This thing is definately not a rebadged altima, or even built off the altiam. This thing is the size of the new Q45, look at the size of it next to the Accord and the XG300/XG350, this thing is a beast.

Looks promising
I think Nissan styling is getting back on track. Of course we cannot judge the look of this new max yet, being it is so dusguised. But the overall shape and the beltline seem to be established here. the car does not look as HUGE as I imagined it would be.
I have always love Maxima's. I recently bought my 1st. A mint, like new, 95 GLE.
Nissan's best Maxima styling was the 3rd gen IMO. The best drive is 4th Gen IMO. The 4th gen car just feels more nimble and well balanced over gen 5, and better overall quality drive vs gen 3 (plus gen 3 had those dumb-a$$ motorized seat belts). I can feel the mass increase with the size growth of the Gen 5. So, I feel the 6th Gen just wont appeal to me personally for the fact I just do not prefer large size cars.
The Altima seems to be taking our Max's place and the Max is becoming something new.
Regardless of how I feel, I still cannot wait to see and drive one of these. only because I am Nissan enthusiast and always look forward to what they are up to. Weather I approve or not. I think this car will be stunning and worth looking forward to. And it could change the way I see things.
Using the 02 Altima as judgement: get the details and interior quality standards raised, the 02 Alt interior qualiity sucks!
Does anyone know any dimensions of the gen 6?

At least they have the driveline headed in the right direction. RWD with a manual tranny.

its not fake.... the car has been spotted in gardena(spell?) too................the post on fresh alloy:
>(funny thing is i saw this car yesterday when i went to the nissan corporate office gardena. i followed it and it turnned into an alley so i kept following and 3 men came out of it. 2 asian guys and a white guy who was driving. i asked them what car it was and one of the asian guys said it was the new maxima. i asked if i could see the interior. but the white guy looked ****ed at the asian guy so he didnt let me. it had quad exhausts by the way. and the gauge cluster was like the Zs but a little more chrome was present. they guy seemed mean so i left him alone after repeatidly asking to see the interior. i ddint wanna mention it here because i had no proof and ddint wanna seem like a liar. but yeah thats the car i saw and it looked nice beneath the covering. the grill was almost the same. the side profile was altima. cant wait to see it without the coverings.)<

I like it. Well, the tail lights are kinda ugly but what Maxima tails are pretty?
