Insurance..

Is paint covered under insurance? Lets say a car gets keyed up pretty bad.. will a new paint job be covered? Would I have to pay a deductible? Thanks!

i'm pretty sure that it is covered, but you will most likely have to cover the deductible...but i don't think it will increase your rates because it was not your fault

You can take your car anywhere you want to take it to get it repaired. Don't let the insurance company force you to go to one of their "trusted" shop if you don't want to take it there.

I dont see why u can't so long as the price of the new paint doesnt increase the price. Some paint are more expensive cuz it has more complex mixtures. If it does the shop should let you pay the difference. Painting your car a different color reduces the value of your car if you're thinkin of reselling your car later.

some insurance companies have a "supermarket parking lot" addition you can buy for a few bucks which covers you incase you get minor damage that occurs when it is not being driven. I forget the exact terms, but it'll cover upto 2K of damage
