Are you talking about the spark plug cover or the valve cover aka rocker cover.

High temp paint for the

spark cover. If you want the letter to show either put tape over the letter or naval jelly.

Take the cover off the engine.
Mask letters...up to you
Spray with high temp paint(Home Depot)
Re-install

Finished product:

I'm going to paint mines blue. The thing is I want to cover up the letters. How do I go about it? Using tape to cover them? And then I guess you a razor/knife to trim? Seem like it would be a long process. Maybe I should just chrome it, or polish it.

Were do you get plastic chromed?

the spark cover is plastic as far as I know......so you likely couldn't polish it.....as far as chromed I would like to see it done

very easy job...

Remove from engine, place a peice of masking tape over the strip that has the Nissan symbol, and spray. Probably nothing that wasn't said in some of these posts, but hey, just thought I would get in on the action

Most hobby shops have this stuff that is used to cover up decals on models etc... It's in a small nail polish sized bottle. Anyway, you dab this stuff over the letters you want to protect, and after it dries, you can spray paint the rest. Once the paint is dry, you just go back and peal this stuff off... alot easier than taping and cutting!

You could paint it to match your Max's exterior. Or maybe you're trying to color code other items(I was thinking about blue to match my interior lights) with the car. I'm also thinking of red, in imitation of the almighty Skyline. Just some ideas for ya, bro

Jeff, how much did it cost you to polish your engine like that. How much was each individual part? It looks sweet!! For the valve cover, I used FoliaTec red caliper paint since I painted my calipers red and had a lot of paint left over. Sorry, I don't have a pic.

Re: Re: No...this is beautiful

what kind of a place would you go to, to get (in my case my manifold) stuff like that chromed or polished? A wheel store that chromes OEM wheels? Fill me in here!

Pearl White Valve Cover

I painted my valve cover pearl white (3 stage) with black lettering to match my car's exterior paint. It looks awesome! IMHO

Thanks for the info Eman97SE. That does seem much easier than taping and cutting.
