I had an idea yesterday about what the 6th gen Maxima could possibly be. Look, I know you're tired of the "I heard the next Maxima will be 8-wheel drive with a Z10 engine!" threads. But I'm actually trying to be serious here.
I looked on Freshalloy to try and confirm some of this, but couldn't find any specific data, so this is kinda unfounded. Well, here goes:

We know about the upcoming Nissan Murano. It's a crossover SUV based on the new SSL(new Altima) platform and powered by the VQ35DE, right? Now, I was thining about the Infiniti FX45, another crossover SUV, but powered by a 300hp VK45DE. Both SUVs have AWD as an option, and appear to be based on the same SSL platform. There's my basis.

Now the 6th gen Maxima will be based on the SSL platform as well, according to Freshalloy. There's at least a chance that it could have a V8/AWD drivetrain, which would be very sweet. That's all folks!

Yep, those are the ones I'm talking about. They could put a v12 in there for all I care - it's still ugly, IMO.
