Ran a 14.4 in my 2k2 max, how are you guys hitting the low 14's
I had 6 passes, i'll spare you and post my 3 best...
2nd Run
1.432 --- Reaction Broke into the 14's!! was so happy hehe
2.407 --- 60 ft Killed a A4 that ran a 16.5
6.438 --- 330 ft Tire pressure was at 25 PSI 2800 RPM launch
9.691 --- 1/8 ET
75.84 --- 1/8 MPH
14.872--- 1/4 ET
96.25 --- 1/4 MPH
3rd Run
.980 --- Reaction Raced a F150 Lightning
2.520 --- 60 ft Dropped tire pressure to 20, and bogged on
6.505 --- 330 ft launch.. at 2500 RPM
9.765 --- 1/8 ET
75.94 --- 1/8 MPH
14.936--- 1/4 ET
95.21 --- 1/4 MPH (EST.. the trap was F*!#% up)
4th Run
.923 --- Reaction Tire pressure still 20, raised launch RPM to
2.303 --- 60 ft 3000... Man was I happy after this one..
6.220 --- 330 ft
9.431 --- 1/8 ET
76.95 --- 1/8 MPH
14.499--- 1/4 ET
96.76 --- 1/4 MPH
Traction was a huge issue, this track hasn't been repaved in like 20 years and the road to the track is a dirt/rock path. All the oil and rubber on the track didn't help either. As you can see my reaction times sucked but my 60' improved slightly throughout the day. I've got to work on my consistency on the launch. On that 4th run i don't think i could have managed a better launch given the track conditions and the tires i was on. All my launches I held RPM's then slipped the clutch out quickly..
All in all, great day at the track, thanks to Kloogy, Leftcoast, Tony and everyone else that came out it was loads of fun. Good thing it was a cool day, you think that ice on the intake helped any?
So, all you drag racing experts please post your opinions and suggestions, I know new tires are definitely on the menu. Thanks guys

First time at the track with a manual, too many things going on hehehe.. I got beat by a modded up the **** civic he ran a 15.2 I ran a 15.0 but I lost by reaction time!!! How embarassing.. then again, how embarassing for him to run a 15.2 with a roll cage and no interior...

Reaction times look great at the track, I wouldnt have lost to the Turbo Integra, (if I wasnt diddling with my Traction Control when the tree lit up)....., but being the first time back at the track for me in 8 years, and just as long for most of us.... I was just interested on laying down the best possible ET..... I'll be working on the R/T for next time !

Hey , be happy with that 14.4. Its a great time for a stock 2K2 at that track. We all know Carlsbad is not a model of Drag Racing.. its the best we have in San Diego, and Im happy you made it down. If someone in SoCal can give us a better option. Many of us will be there !

this is how I do it...
use first until i hit 35 then begin to shift to 2nd, take second to 85 and then begin to shift into 3rd continue until you finish and allow everyone to be in awe of how your auto is fast too , dont believe me, too bad, we should go for a ride sometime, its also smart because it keeps the car in its powerband. I drive a 93SE btw.

Dennis, you know all Maxima's run slow at Carlsbad, I'm amazed the times were that good for you guys, remember last time we went and S/C Maxima's were getting 14.6's and the best I could nail was a 15.2 N/A after 14.7's at Pomona?

yeah, i count myself lucky it was a very cool day, but we had humidity and crappy track surface up the yin yang. The day we went last time was like 97 frickin degrees, and some dude in a truck brought a bunch of gravel onto the track surface.. Hmmm how's the track at pomona?
