New Tranny Pics and a couple ?'s...
Picked up my new tranny tonight. $700 shipped, VLSD with 7k miles.
First pic is of the whole tranny, as you can see, I got the manual motor mount I needed, the slave cylinder and one clutch line, and all the wiring:
Second pic is of the right (inside) side:

Third pic is of a slight damage to the right seal It is just a little tear, I will just replace the seal for a piece of mind:
Question is, how easy is it to replace the right seal? Do you have to disassemble the tranny, or pull the case apart? The tranny appears to have no damage, other than the slight tear to the seal, and still looks really new...

The seals will be one larger then the other. Replacing it is very easy, DO IT WHILE THE TRANNY IS NOT ON THE CAR! Take a large screwdriver and pry out the old seal. It may destroy it but who cares. Anyway, to put the new one in, put thick grease around the outside lip of it. I used a hammer and gently tapped around the permeter of the seal to wedge it in. DO NOT DRIVE IT IN TOO FAR TO THE POINT THE SEALS MOVE OR YOU WILL GET A HUGE LEAK AND CRY lIKE I DID. The seals should be snug and sit flush with the tranny case. Don't mix left and right up.

Thanks. Ive replaced seals on hydralic systems and helicopter tranny's before, so it should be a piece of cake.

Nope, helicopters have transmissions, some even have clutches! Helicopters I work on have two transmissions, one in the rear, which gets power from the engines (2) and sends it to the rear rotor disc and the foward transmission via a drivshaft, the turns the foward transmission... They have to have clutches so that the engine can turn free of the tranny, and vice versa, they are not normal clutches though, they have teeth that stand up when they are put under torque...
