Difference between VG, VE, VQ

i must be dumb or i just can't seem to find what the difference between the 3 engines are. could somebody please clarify what years/models have these, hp differences, and any other major things i should know bout them. thanks for your help.

Well....there's some major differences there but this should help you...

89-94 GXE's and 89-91 SE's = VG

92-94 SE's = VE

All 4th gens = VQ

One of them ticks real bad and has a hard time getting off the line(auto version).

I was driving the bone stock VE 5 speed yesterday, I was in 3rd gear / 75mph@4000rpm here comes a modded integra type R on the 405 long story short, I layed it down he stayed at the rear bumper til the top of 3rd, the I got into 4th, and he slooooowly was fading.

not too sure about that one bud....I've seen Type R's with intake and exhaust run 14.4s to a 14.7 of a modded(I/Y/E) VQ 5spd(I30t)....you sure it was a Type R??? I seriously doubt it...if anyhting it was a GSR or dare I say and LS/GS.

190/190 A lame duck engine, at least in the States.
VE V-6 DOHC

Used only for three years in the Maxima SE.

Variable intake runners and (problematic)
variable timing control.
