Polishing cast alumninum wheels?

Are there companies that can polish cast alumninum wheels? I'd love to polish my K1s, but I don't know what would be involved in the process. Anyone know?

Probably most polishing places can do it. Depends on what you are starting with. Lotsa spokes and a rough finish to start out with will increase costs.

Question is do you want to hassle with the upkeep? ie.. hand polishing to maintain the shine? I guess you can have the wheels clearcoated after. Dunno how well it will stick on such a smooth surface though.

I guess I could always go "bling-bling" and get the wheels chromed. Chroming would be fairly easy and probably cheaper than polishing. I just want some shine to my wheels because I'm trying to go for a more luxury oriented look.

Wouldn't dipping a K1 in chrome ruin the idea of those wheels. I mean they are saught after for their light weight, and chroming it would add several pounds. Polishing would not on the other hand, but as Jeff said it requires extreme maintainance to keep them shiny. However I imagine it wouldn't be too expensive to polish as their design is fairly simple, and a clearcoat can be added if you can fork over the dough.
