Have AGX's and still rides bad

I had my AGX's installed today, and my car still rides like crap. I also have intrax spings. I thought my stock struts were shot because I have been riding on them for almost 3 years. So I figured I should get the AGX's and then my car would ride better. It rides just the same as my stock struts. I can feel every single bump. I think my Maxima rides worse than anyones max. That's how bad it is. And I know when a car ride ruff, mine is just waaayyyy to ruff. Now I'm starting to think it's my springs. I also put the KYB's on every setting, and it all feels the same. My car just rides like crap. If it's not my springs, I don't know what to do. Makes me what to go get a different car now. What to do?

I have a pretty rough ride also man. I have Eibachs and AGX's and I feel every little bump, but the AGX's actually need a few weeks to break in because I have noticed a little more softness a few weeks later after I put my AGX's on. Eibachs are normally a rough ride and I thought my car was the worst ride ever but not its not so bad. Be patient and give the AGX's a few weeks to break in and you will see some difference.

I hope I start feeling it riding better soon. People ride in my car and say it rides like crap. It's like I bottom out on every bump no matter what. It's worse than a Kia.

Try these. I have these plus Konis. You'll regain over an inch of suspension travel... the difference is night and day. I also have the modified Koni front strut assembly but that didn't make as much difference as the backs with the Intrax.

I've got Intrax/AGX and my ride is actually very good. Not until I hit a big bump does the harshness come into effect. With my newly installed SFCs, my ride is MUCH better. Here are some things you need to check:

1) Are your Intrax springs mounted the correct way? The closer spaced coils should be mounted at the top.

2) Did you cut your bump stops? You need to remove 60-70% of the stock bump stops. If you don't do this, you'll be buttoming out on these constantly.

3) Your 18s aren't helping things. Large and heavy wheels with very low profile tires will make bumps harsher. Going with a taller tire and smaller rim would help things.

4) Are your upper coils wrapped so they don't touch each other? Intrax coils are closely spaced and will touch each other which can cause rattles and harshness. Search the 4th forum for the simple fix.

5) Get SFCs. It really improves the ride. My ride is much softer and far more controlled, especially in corners.

Chunger-

How do these gain you over an inch of wheel travel? To me it looks like these spacers only raise the assembly 1" off the body instead of adding travel. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't wheel travel dictated by spring length? The Intrax have really short rear springs therefore they have very little wheel travel. The only way to add travel is to add coils. Right?

He is correct on that you have to trim your bumpstops. At first I was not sure but ended up doing it anyways and I am glad I did. Dave hes riding on 19 inch wheels I believe!

It gives the travel back on the shock travel... the Springs themselves don't fully bind, it's the shock... You may be able to get back some travel by trimming some of the bumpstops too. I didn't trim mine.

I get it now, thanks. Do you have any pics showing the gap in the rear? Currently, I've only got about 1.2" of gap on the rear.

i always tell ppl that unless you live in florida or another smoooth state a max should not be lowered more than 1.7" the front suspension on a max is not as good as a honda which can be droped up to 3" and still have a smoooother ride than a max with a 2" ride.

as for the bump stops i took them off. the max needs all the room it can get.

as for the shocks thats a whole diff story. did you know that if you had on the same springs and tryed installing tokico and then installed agx, the tokico will give you a lower drop. but on the other hand we all know that the agx will out-perform the tokicos.

it's all about getting rid of that big @ss gap we all have. some ppl don't want a gap, they want to over lap the tire. other don't mind having a small gap and a better ride.

is there any way we can gt more suspension travel up front too?
these mounts look like an inexpensive way to get suspension travel back.

Yes they are installed correctly, and everything is wrapped correctly. I work at a performance, so I know it was done right. I guess I will try and take out my bump stops.

Does anyone have pics of the bumpstops cut? That is probably my problem also. I installed new AGX, B&G, and new bumpstops. I did not cut them. Someone help me with this one.

I'm thinking I should just change my springs.
