Michigan just got peed on by the Gods and it finally pushed me to check if my drain holes were clogged since I was getting some water in to the cabin.
Turns out, the drain holes are clear BUT the sunroof sags at the rear left corner when it is fully closed. Water is entering there and dripping into BOTH the drain channel (not a problem since it drains out) and the guide rail path (which doesn't drain anywhere)
Anyway, the water that collects in the rail path eventually makes its way to the front and leaks through the two bolts that pass through to the cabin.
I've managed to kill the leak by tilting my sunroof slightly. I'm also going to put some silicone on the two bolts to prevent water entry.
However, here's my question: anyone know how I might adjust the left tilt arm so I can have my sunroof sit higher and seal the corner? It's annoying to have to "untilt" my sunroof just to open it every time and "retilt" it to seal it properly.

I would concentrate on the leaking not the operation. Don't sweat it, my car is 3 years newer than yours but for a Nissan 4 is pretty old. My moonroof just started making a grind/clunk noise upon opening. You know what? I could care less, it's not a Hyundai, Toyota, Honda, Acura, Lexus, or BMW, no reason to expect it to be reliable as such. But that motor sure is sweet and 1,000's below invoice whether it's '98 or '02. Not gonna spend a penny fixing this bad-boy! Originally posted by pocketrocket

Turns out that I may not have fixed the leak 100% by tilting it though it did help. Saturday, I'm gonna get out my RV sealant and seal those holes. In the works, I'm also getting compressible EPT foam sealer and I'm planning to line my sunroof opening (on the sheet metal side, not the glass). When compressed, that thing is 100% water tight!
