My car does it too. Straight cut reverse gear(s).

So does my friend's '95 SE 5-speed.

It's not honda, it's normal with some cars.

The whine is from the differential. The gears are cut with a arc to them, biased to turn one direction. When your in reverse they whine.

Nearly all cars do this. And as said earlier the cut of the reverse gear can have something to do with this on some cars.

well well,,,

You havne't driven any other Hondas other than your legend? My sister's 97 accord vibrates on stopsigns and signal lights, so does my friend's 96 accord, so does my other friends accord, so did the old '89 integra I used to have long time ago..

I dont know why these cars vibrate as they get older.....sorry I can't help you much there..

Sounds to me like a problem with idle under load

Check the throttle position switch/sensor. If you are in DRIVE at idle, and you turn on your AC, does the vibrating get worse?

Re: help me pleASE......VIBRATING problem

These cars do tend to vibrate as they get older. But a good tune-up should lower the vibration. Here are some other things you should try:
Clean the Throtle bodie,
Change O2 sensors,
Check Timing and Ide speed.
If timing is good, you might want to play with the Ide speed a little bit. You could raise the Ide speed up 50-100rpm. That might help a bit. Good look.

I had a problem in my Acura (91 Integra) with an exhaust rattle, and in my older 85 accord, same thing. I've heard of it on a few other hondas, but I wouldn't expect it in a Legend. You could test it out though.

Try Raising the ide to 650-700rpm. See if that will help.
