Paint Care: Any products for a light clear coat scrub........
Paint Care: Any products for a light clear coat scrub........
Ok, I've got some light clear coat scratches that really won't come out. I also have some imperfections in the clear coat and some other blemishes. I have a bottle of 3M Clear Coat Rubbing compound. It has sorta worked.
Basically I'm looking for something a bit more abrasive that say I only used once in the lifetime of the car. It may take a bit of the clear coat off, but I'm not going to use it every weekend. I bought the car when it was 5 years old so it already had lots of this stuff.
Any ideas? Reviews?

Try auto body supply store. They will have right mild polish you need. You could try wet sand it with 1500 grit sand paper. It's about the same strength as a mild polish. Then follow up with that 3M Clear coat rubbing compound. If the scratches are too deep, you can only cover it up with some Glaze.

get a big, powerful 1/2" drill and a woll buffing pad for it.. then use the rubbing compound on it.
it'll buff those scratches out in no time.
then follow with polishing compound..
then I use Meguire's Mirror Glaze polish after that, then a couple coats of wax.
