For those with slotted rotors ... which way are the slots supposed to be facing?

It can go either. There are different views on how it should be done. If the cooling vents are directional, they have to be positioned properly irrespective of the slotting pattern. If they are non directional, you can orient them either way. Most of the larger after market brake companies have it where the outside part of the slot strikes the pad first as it spins.

I'm looking at my Stillen rotors in my room...the one marked 'L' which I assume is the driver's side, has the vents facing forward (pad touches outermost end of each slot first).

Chunger, what do you mean by 'cooling vents'? How do you know whether they are directional or non-directional? I was just about to install these things, so I want to make sure I do it correctly. Thanks.
