is this oil ok?

I picked up a case of mobil 1, and the only blend left was 15w 50 high performance oil......... i went on mobil's site and its geared towards sc'd turbo'd cars. Anything wrong with running it in my car?

That's a bit thick...
do not run it when it's cold out...
stick to 10w or 5w unless your engine is high mileage

i dont think its gonna damage nothin, it will protect ut engine better due to its thicher viscosity but i think ur gonna losea little bit of power since it is after all thicker oil and its a little harder for ur engine to throw around.

u know what really tripped me out, its not like that at all, the hotter it is out the thicker the oil gets, and vise versa for when its cold out. i thought it was the other was around but its set up that way for some reason i dont know how but i know this is true i read it on a site a little while ago becasue some1 had posted something about an oil anaysis or something about syntetics.

What I know is you wouldn't be able to pour heavy base oil when its below 0... you can almost cut it with a knife...

$4.86 per quart is pretty expensive for Mobil 1.
Like others have said, 15W-50 is not the ideal weight for the VQ motors, even though some people do use it. You will have increased wear at startup, poorer fuel economy and slightly reduced power over what a 5W-30 or 10W-30 will provide. The 15W-50 will operate at a higher oil pressure, but it will also have a harder time flowing through the passages of the motor, so it will operate at a higher temperature as well. While a 15W-50 has a greater capacity to store heat, the 5W-30 and the 10W-30 are better able to carry heat away from the hotter areas of the engine.

I'd return it like you planned and if you really want Mobil 1, find a better price or wait till it goes on sale.
