sprayed for the first time

I sprayed my Nitrous for the first time the other night and all I have to say is it is AWESOME. I like it alot. I am only spraying a 50 shot for right now. It feels really good and I am very happy with it now. 2nd gear halls a$$ now, I cant even imagine what it is like with a 100 shot. I do have some questions though.

My fuel pressure was at 56 psi or so and I am wondering if this is good for a 50 shot. Is this lean, rich, etc.

My EGT's peaked out at 760C so It seems like I am running pretty well but would like some input on this though.

Also which way do you turn the FPSS to make it go up or down. Or how does it come from the box when you first get it. Should I make it go all the way to the bottom and work my way up or what. Also when you turn it does turning it right increase or decrease the settings. I think that is about it

Thanks
matt

Cool

Glad ya got it working Matt. Sorry I didn't call ya back, works been hecktic lately. Are you using a full sweep FPG? Your EGT's are a little low, so it sounds like you may be a little rich, but ideal FP is around 60-62 psi. PLEASE make sure you check your plugs, I cannot stress this enough. As far as FPSS goes, I think clockwise increase and counter clockwise decreases the amount of fuel pressure you need, but I could be wrong. I know it does take more than one turn to get results though. If you need any more help feel free to call me, I'll try and pick up next time

oh yeah, have fun!!!

On a dry kit, there is a correlation between FP and nitrous bottle pressure. You might be low on the nitrous pressure thus the FP is lower.

No problem Matt, that is what I figured. Yes I am using a Full sweep fuel pressure gauge. I have not checked my plugs because it was dark outside when I sprayed. I will check my plugs tomorrow to see what is going on. I have only gapped my front bank plugs to around .042 or so. the rear bank is at .044. I need to keep on tuning my FPSS, I could not figure out how much to turn it and It would have prolly taking me my whole bottle to get it set right.

My bottle pressure has been around 1050 to 1100 both times that I have sprayed. So i dont think that is a factor.

What are the different ways that I can lean it out a bit. Should I be aiming for about 800C on my EGT's? That is what I have my warning light set for on my gauge. Should I change the bypass jet?
Thanks for all your responses

I ran about the same pressure as you do when I had my 50-shot...and my plugs were PERFECT...I think that 62-63 for a 50-shot is a little high....who knows though.

Does someone know what the convertion formula is for C to F? If it's what I think it is, he may actually be running lean. I may be wrong, depending on the convertion. Please make sure and gap ALL the plugs evenly please. As for leaning out (if needed), you are correct in stating that the bypass jet needs to be tweaked. Remember is bigger for leaner, smaller for richer. The adjustment on the FPSS was discussed in a good write up sometime back, try and see if the search takes you to it somewhere.

F = ((9/5)*C)+32 (which of course means [C = ((5/9)*F)-32])

so...

1400F = ((9/5)*760C)+32

In due time, i want to give you a little while longer before I can kick your A$$ all over the place.

I will spray again today and check the plugs and post here on how they look.

yup, I live in NC, If you come to Nopi then we can have some fun, I will be running a 100 shot by then.

The reason why the fronts are gapped a little lower than the fronts is because It was getting dark outside when I was doing the fronts and there is no way i would have been able to tell what I was doing with the backs. My EGT sensor is in the rear bank so I could watch it to see if I was running to lean.

Yeah I know, and I like showing my car but I dont like being slow. Especially slower than keving.

Yeah I will spray at Rockingham. My best time was 14.70 @ 94s on my 18's. I probably wont have my new tires on by the time of the meet so I will be rocking the steelies.

Thank you. You're a scholar and a gentleman.

I guess that means he's running just about right.

UPDATE

I checked my plugs after a Nitrous run and they are had a little bit of green tint showing on them. The green did not run all the way down the strap just near the tip. I did not see any specs or anything like that. Just a little bit of green and the rest was normal looking.

So does that mean I am running a bit lean or a bit rich? thanks
matt
