Remove window tint?
#2
i say if have a 50/50 chance of messing up your defost wire(s).....buy the solution that helps to remove the tint and work very very slowly you should be okay.
Even if you take it to a shop they still can't warranty against damange to the wires so if someone is going to f*ck them up might as well be you

ok this is the best way
Try to peal the paper a little bit and then Yank the whole sheet in 1 stroke. the whole sheet should peel right off. but U gotta do it right.. there should be 3 sheets on the back window. do it right and the paper would come off without a problem. also after the paper comes off and U got the Glue on the window. USE GOO GONE from any hardware store to get the glue off. don't scrape the window, and don't let Goo GONE get on the fabric or it'll fade it. use towels on the rear deck when U use Goo GONE. GOOD LUCk

tint shop
the tint shop along with a few other tint shops have a warranty against the destruction of the defrosters. they said "if we mess up it'll cost us a whole lot because we'll hafta replace it for your" and some shops would also sand off that annoying 3-5 inch matric on the top of the rear windshield.. but some shops won't because they are affraid to scratch or shatter the windshield, another reason is because it's metal and might rust if not done properly. gl on the tint removal, i say just get a shop to do it. i think it's around 500 to replace the back
