Should I change my oil??

Ok fellas...I'm about to go on a short trip to Orlando from Miami and I currently have 5400 on the oil in my car. I'm using Amsoil XL-7500 10W30...this is the oil you supposedly change every 7500 miles or 6 months.

I checked the oil right now and it looks dark and when I rub it between my fingers it seems to thinly lubricate and almost disapears after a little while.

I leave tomorrow...should I change it before I go??

Thanks,
Kevin

I have such an uneasy feeling about running the same oil even though it's designed that way. Too much conditioning with the regular oils I suppose.

Where's bill?

Color doesn't mean anything. I've seen oil go dark at less than 1K and be fine for months. When Bill sees this you'll probably see the banging head on desk pic.

My original plan was to change it when I get back. I guess I will stick to that plan.
