Can you expound on the "extra hose"

Any leak in your intake will cause the engine to sputter...

the extra hose is a smaller hose near the valve cover

So there was no place on the intake to connect the hose? I'm just a little confused. The hoses you remove from the stock intake just get re-attached to the CAI... How did you end up with an extra hose? And which end of the hose are you needing to attach?

in that link if u look all the way to the left, half way up theres two hoses - one big and one little - the little one with the goldish clamp is the one with no where to go - it is directly underneath the bigger hose----- someone i talked to on aol said it doesnt connect to anything and it is just a breatherhose- idk though

I had this SAME problem. My hose was too short, slipped off a little during me driving, and my car went wacko, barely made it home and thank God it didn't fall off completely and held on.

Go to your local Auto parts store. They sell those rubber black hoses for .99 cents per foot. Just replace your current hose with a longer one so it secures tight enough.

Yes you are correct that the smaller hose is just a breather or maybe some sort of blow off hose... My 96 is unaltered so far and it looks just like your picture...

i just had my PR CAI installed and there are 3 hoses, but only 2 will be connected and they are both on the right side...a real small one and a large one...both were hooked up to your original intake (stock) just trace it...not too hard...and u should have also gotten longer ones with package cause the stock ones were too short for my hook up....

its my y-pipe giving me problems now

the CAi does wonders and the ypipe just started a nightmare.....
