how do you polish stainless steel?

without any special tools? search isn't my friend right now. thanks for help.

ummm isnt stainless steel polished ... i mean if you have grime on it or want to make it shiney , i use some stuff called Mr Metal.

I tried Mothers mag/alluminum pollish which says its perfect for all metals. I used it on my SS stillen muffler and it shined it pretty good but the scratches are still there. Anyone know of anythig that will help with that?
