I also got my car weighed

I jumped on the car getting weighed bandwagon. As expected, I came out on the heavy side. 3200 pounds even without me in it. 1940 in the front, 1260 in the rear. Details include 30 pounds each for 2 15" subs. Probably another 10 or so pounds for amps. No spare tire. 1/2 tank of gas. My car is a fully loaded 97 SE with stick transmission and aftermarket Y pipe. I still dont see how Neal is over 400 pounds lighter then me.

Carbon fiber hood, very light rims, 95-96 design which is a lighter all around car. Just look at his first post:

Front passenger seat: 45 lbs
Rear seat bench: 10 lbs
Spare: 25 lbs
Jack: 5 lbs
Trunk carpeting and fiberboard: 5 lbs

Weight reduction parts on my car are:

CF hood: saved 30 lbs
2 Kosei K1s @ T1-S (35 lbs each): saved 12 lbs over original rims (not the stock rims)
2 Mazda Millenia wheels and tires (only 30lbs each, wow!): saved 22 lbs over original 15" wheels/tires.

just driving and riding in Neal's car I can tell the weight difference from mine. His has a lot more road noise and is much easier to toss around a corner.

I'll stick with the extra couple hundred pounds just to have all the creature comforts that I have with my SE.

Man, that means mine weighs about that much, too I'll keep it. Can't let go of all those creature comforts Right now I have this dilemna, I just got a JL audio Stealthbox and I'm concerned about putting it in b/c my car's weight will increase quite a bit. . . . .permanently. Oh well, you gotta give up something for deep bass.

Right! As much as I'd love to weigh under 3000 lb, I can't give up my leather, electronic, climate control, power sunroof, power seats, etc.

I just weight my max today too. Mine weighted in at 3100 lbs. I have a fully loaded 95 Maxima 5 speed SE. My only mods are suspension. This is with my spare, jack, other assorted stuff in my trunk and a full tank of gas. Therefore without all that stuff, I probably weight in at 3065 lbs.

My loaded SE (without spare and little gas) was 3080lbs without me in it (of course). I never got to weigh my GXE, but I can't imagine that its that much lighter. I'd figure 2950-3000.
