Original Tint or Mirror Tint? Which one would U choose?

I have a 97 MAX(Champagne) and I am getting the windows tinted today so I am wondering what your opinions are. I am deciding between regular tint and Mirror tint which one would u guys suggest? The differnce in price being around $40 more for mirror.

Thanks,

TousDaddy

I dont like mirror tint, I think it distracts from the car. All you see is the mirror.

I wish I still had them all! They are my previous ones in order. I just have the Max right now, for about 6 more months. Then either getting a G35 or the 03 Titanium Edition Max.

Stick with the Max 03, so u think I should get the black with 20% or do the illegal tint and hope for good luck?

I would go as dark as you can. I have 15% on my side windows and limo 5% on the very back window. Im in FL, so I wouldnt ever consider going lighter with the heat here.

How do the different shades mesh is one significantly darker than the other or is it unnoticeable.

I know some states are more strict than others. Ive never been pulled over in any of my cars and always had 15%-5% on all of them. They dont bother you much here in FL. Although if I see a cop and all my windows are up, i usually open my sunroof shade to let some light in until they pass. Just to be safe...

I think i will just go legal cause the fine is a 1/3 of the cost of getting it done. This depends though on when i see how the 2 look besides eachother. BTW are we all at work right now getting paid to B.S on Maxima.Org

You can't tell any difference, since the side windows keep out such a large amount of the sun, the front just compliments the sides. No matter where you're standing, you can't tell that there's any difference at all. It looks really slick from the front, too.

That's what I had on my beige Max. It's called bronze limo tint I believe.

I had 35% in front, 20% in back.

How much more was the bronze limo than regualr blakc tint. Also, can you get it at 5% just like the black tint? Thanks

Shouldn't be that much more ... I paid $150 for my tints.

And I'm pretty sure you can get 5%.

u should get the mirror tint but instead of the mirror shade up top, u should get that tinted in gold, it looks really hot especially on a champagne maxima, if not then def go with the plain mirror tint it looks awesome and besides the plain black tints are soooo old

Someone on here had "Platinum Plus" tint, which (if I remember correctly) was a layer of regular tint applied to the window, and topped with a layer of mirror (or titanium) tint. IMHO it looked really good...especially w/ those Arrows.

When thinking about % you have to think about it like this: The percentage listed is the amount of light that gets through your window in comparison to no tint. So there is a HUGE difference between 50% and 20%. I have 20% all around, and my buddy has 35% all around. There is a noticable difference between the two.

Make sure you check your local laws regarding legality. (Not that it matters, I just go w/ what looks good)

Hey Guys,
Thanks for all of your input, in the end I went with a tint called "stealth" what it consists of is black tint mixed with silver resins that create almost a mirror tint but not quite. I decided to go with 38% all around and 30% in the back which is all illegal in MN (50%)I am very happy with the way it looks and cant think of a better investment for my $$.

Thanks,

Congratulations, sounds nice....you don't happen to be close to the WI border do you? It sounds a lot like the platinum plus I was talking about, which I can't seem to find here.

I believe what u r talking about is the same thing maybe with a different brand name made by a differnet company. I live in Burnsville, MN which is approx 35-40 min from the border if u want directions to the place I went or a phone # let me know.
