in the lock? sometimes the key can get so worn that some of the
tumblers in the lock don't move following the profile of the key.

Re: maxima 1992 electrical
Well, the fuel pump has its own fuse, which i think should be
connected to the main ignition relay (i don't own a third gen)
which could be on the way out. this relay is usually fused by
a big (100 amp or more) one. In a 10 year old car anything that
has a moving part is bound to wear. How can you tell if the lock
is good unless you take it apart?

I think at this point your best bet is to get a haynes manual and
check out the chassis electrical system diagram. there may be multiple ignition relays that you need to test. on my 92 SE-R there are three ignition relays next to the fuse panel below the steering wheel. you may have to take the bottom dash panel off to see the relays. if the haynes manual shows ignition relay 1, 2, or 3, then
look for relays with the same color. Having said all this, on my 83 sentra (RIP) it turned out to be the starter solenoid, which is right above the starter. When you say "not touch the iginition" is the key in ACC position for 2 mins or is it at the off position for 2 mins?
if it's at the ACC position then it's very likely that it's the relay. if it's in the off osition then it's probably the lock.
