that would be very helpful for the DIY'er and for tuning the newer cars....i hope it passes or is considered....

It is obvious that they HAVE to do it. If I bought the car, the computer is mine, and everything in the computer is mine. All the codes are mine. I should be able to change whatever I want because it is MINE.

it doesnt work that way in computers.

You own the rights to the end product (I.E. your car runs and someone can diagnose). You DONT own the rights to the source. This will be a hard fought issue...BUT I hope we win!
