My leatherseats.com group deal package just came in the mail and I am quite satisfied. The leather is soft and looks pretty nice. =) However, I thought the kit was supposed to come with two front seat backs (the things with the pockets).

Was anyone else's leatherseats.com kit missing this item? Also, can I start installing the front seat covers and do the seat backs at the very end? Or do I have to wait until I receive the seat backs and install them at the same time as the front seat covers? Thanks.

 

The seat backs are part of the seat. I got two when I ordered my seats, they must have messed up with yours.

 

Hey Jeff, I didn't get mine either. I had to use the stock ones. I guess we should call them up.

 

I called up Eric at leatherseats.com and he said they the seat backs should have been included and that he'll send them right out. =)

Hey Jane, did you install yours yet? Malik is staying at Matt's house for a few days & I got a chance to check out his leatherseats.com leather/suede seats today...looks great =)

 

Are you guys installing the leatherseats.com kits yourself, or having it done professionally? If the latter, how much are they charging you?

 

they definately look great.. feels great too love the extra padding... jeff, you can put the leather on first and worry about the pack panel later.

do you guys put the leather seat covers over the existing cloth, or do you need to remove the cloth first?
since i live in OKC, and leatherseats.com is based right here in the city, i might go to the home office to check things out, and see if they install, and for how much, otherwise, i'll just do it myself.

btw, to get the group deal, do i need to do something special, like mention maxima.org when i order?

Triple8 - I'm installing them myself along with the help of a couple friends. I live in the SF bayarea, and the cheapest quote I've gotten from upholstery shops around here was ~$500. Forget that! =P

Slick - You remove the factory cloth covers and install the leather in its place. Only for the door inserts do you cover up the factory cloth. Just tell leatherseats.com that you are part of the Maxima group deal. Hurry up though, cuz I don't think the group deal will last much longer. Actually, it may be over...I'm not sure...

Yep, I already installed it (except for the driver's side and inserts). OMG, it's a PITA and it hurts your hand ALOT. One thing for sure is to mark where you take the hog rings out and have LOTS of patience. We did the install while watching TV, so it wasn't as bad.
