This is what happens when you race at 90+ degrees with 90+% humidity

...no I didnt kill any birds this time, but I went to the local drag strip's wednesday night test and tune/gamblers race. The good: not that many people there so I ran about 7 times pretty much no sweat. The bad: The conditions were torrid and made me sweat alot. The coolest run I did it was 89 degrees at 96% humdity, the lowest humidty was 91 degrees at 83% humdity. The absolute barometer was 29.5 the entire time, which is quite on the low side. I monitored under the hood temps near the intake and even with the hood up it was 130+ degrees once I got to the line. Also, this was my first wednesday night but it was mostly the hard core racers there with their 10, 9, 8 and 7 second cars with full tube frames like you see on TV.
This is how my speeds were affected by the heat. My MPH never exceeded 92. My best time of the night was a 15.027 @ 92.52 MPH. For reference last friday I ran best of 14.7 @ 93.xx MPH, but it was 20 degrees cooler with much less humidity. The track wasnt as sticky either cause a few times I wound up spinning hard off the line resulting in 2.5 to 60 foot times. 15.4 was my worst times twice both with 2.55x 60 foots cause I blew the launch.

I went to the track last night, absolutly disgusting conditions! I live in the Boston area and went up to New England Dragway, the humidity was very high. My 60' were around 2.5sec also. Spinning through 1st, and into 2nd.
No more humid days for me.

Strange, I noticed the same thing. When I have my A/C on(at it's lowest setting), my car still pull pretty strongly. However, when I turn the A/C, sometimes it doesn't feel as strong. Odd huh?

This year I've finally learned that racing in any weather above 80 degrees just isn't worth it. Being that I'm in the midwest, the temps are high, the humidity is high, and barometer rarely exceeds 30.00. It's just not worth it for me to spend $15 knowing I'm not going to run a best EY. The best I ever ran in 85 degree weather was a 14.8@95, but the humidity was relatively low (50%) that night and it helped. In 90 degree and 80+% humidity, the best I've ever run was a 15.0@94mph. How do I know this? I write down the conditions on the timeslip

So at your strip they dont print the conditions on the strip itself? At mine, they print Time, Date, Temp, Rel humid and ABS baro.
