What's the stock offset for the Maxima +40?
What about 300ZX +30?
If you have the 300ZX brake conversion, what's your wheels' offset? I think Jeff's Type M is +35. Anybody else?

I'm assuming he is not using spacers.
I think any 17" or 18" rims that do not have a lip with a offset between 35-40 will able to fit the z brakes. Ofcourse the 35mm will give you more room. There are exception like Cheston's Revo. Revo do have really thick spokes. About 2" thick.

the non turbo Zs use 16x7.5" on all four corners. 5x114.3 mm lug pattern, 66.1 mm centerbore, +45 mm offset.
the twin turbo Zs use the same wheel up front. in the rear, 16x8.5" are used and with +35mm offset.

wooh...I might got my numbers mixed up. Does the smaller the number mean there will be more room for larger brake or does larger the number mean there will be more room? If Z use +45mm, good thing I got 40mm for my new rims. I almost went with +35mm.

No, you had your numbers right. +35 is spaced out further than + 40 and +35, etc. Maximas have problems with clearance because the caliper is positioned slightly differently than in the Z. Same reason we have to cut the rotors down to fit. Fitment is more a function of spoke design than offset. With my wheels, I have about 2mm of clearance at the closest point.

I have the TR MotorSport Typhoons with 35mm offset. How many inches shouldnt matter as i think 16" with proper clearnace will work.My wheels clear my brakes but juss barely. I want to get a new set of wheels but need to find out which ones fit.

Doing some math....
I was wondering if a smaller than 7.5" rim could clear the 300ZX calipers...
looking at tire racks diagram
http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/tech/offset.htm
the lower the offset, the more room the caliper has. but a 7" wheel would cut .25" from one side, a 6.5" wheel (like stock) would cut .5" from each side, or roughly 13mm. that offset has to be made up through the offset in order to clear, so a 6.5" wheel would have to be roughly +32mm (or lower) offset to clear? A 7" wheel would need +38mm (or lower)? Of course assuming that the spoke design would accomodate it. That seems to easy. Am I missing something?
Anyone know the stock offset for the 97+ SE 16" wheels or 95-96 SE 7 spokes?
