New battery installed (update) ->

Just to update everyone who offered advice on my dead battery situation yesterday (BTW thanks guys, thanks Rodel), I ended up getting a sealed (service-free) battery from a local shop here in Austin, Batteries Plus. It's rated at 890 CCA (cold cranking amps), far more than the stock battery. Sure enough, my car has started perfectly since I installed it yesterday. This morning was unusually cold (below 32, maybe high 20's), and the car started perfectly. Really cranks fast now, definitely faster than before. Even on this cold morning. Idle is rock steady now (used to hunt a wee bit).
FYI the battery is a Batteries Plus-brand battery, was $70, and comes with a 7 year warranty (2 year free replacement, thereafter prorated). Very good battery for the money. I just couldn't stomach $120+ for an Optima Red Top, also couldn't stand for another week of driving the Metro until the next shipment of RTs arrived. Battery weighs about the same as stock, is a little bit shorter and longer, but fits the battery tray fine.
Thanks again for the advice, guys!
