If they take only 2 months to get here like I think they may, it won't be any slower than Cranman.

Anyway, I wasn't laughing about you leaving. I was laughing that you carried through on your threat from earlier.

Nevermind. It's no big deal. Enjoy your VI either way.

So is it another week or two until they get shipped out? Just trying to figure out a time frame.

No big deal. I'm sure there is someone else who will take your spot.

There are now 2 spots open, if anyone is interested.

If you guys aren't keeping up on the 1st GD, here's an update:

My supplier has received the cash I sent and is shipping right now. (It's likely he already did ship yesterday, actually).

That means they'll be here in less than a week most likely, and I will be taking the first 50% for this GD at that time.

But like I said, I don't want to take a red cent from anyone until the 1st set of MEVI's is in my hands.

So what I'm saying is that I'll probably be needing the money from you all by next week.

Of course, I'll let you all know.

And to everyone else, there are 3 spots open due to people who moved up to the 1st GD, and people dropping out.

If anyone else plans on dropping out, now is the time to tell me.

If anyone is interested in taking one of those 3 spots, please read the 1st post on this thread.

Status Update:

There have been a couple of unfortunate misunderstanding between my supplier and I:

1) He did not ship the MEVI's for GD #1 last week. He thought he was waiting for me to confirm my address and shippng info. He however, did ship yesterday.

2) I was under the impression he had already ordered the MEVI's for the 2nd GD. This was an incorrect assumption, and after looking back on my E-Mails, was obviously my fault. I read something he said wrong.

He will be putting in the order for this GD this week (His exact words were "Let me organize it, I will order within 7 days") He is ordering 15 of them, so I have 2 extra at this moment. Time to receive is 2 months, but may be 3 if there are any snags.

If anyone has any issues with this, let me know.

I will likely be asking for the first 50% in about a week.

Thanks!

Great! I still am looking forward to getting this intake manifold, but does anyone have any good ideas on getting the solenoids for a fairly cheap price? Also, has anyone thought of what they will be doing with their previous manifold? Is there any potential to sell these to anyone? One last thing: what should my expected gains be considering I only have an intake at the moment. I would recommend to anyone who has done the y-pipe mod to do it, I haven't myself, but I have seen a Maxima with intake,y-pipe, and MEVI combo seriuosly smoke some hondas!!! Nothing better than burnt rice!

Ok I will try to help you out.

1. The solenoids Ian got where from Junkyards. Read the thread about that for more info.

2. I would keep the manifold. What if you sell the car or what not and want to sell the MEVI since it would gain you more profit. besides not many people are into buying a stock one unless they are doing the direct nitrous thing. But they are few and far apart.

I will be supplying the Solenoids for free, so don't buy one.

Second, you also need to buy the RPM Switch, hoses, and relay.

See my web page for that AND the Dyno results from when I only had a Y-Pipe and Intake.

You'll gain about 30-40hp at high RPM (6500).

However, your peak hp gain will be about 10. This is because at high RPM in the stock Maxima, your hp drops dramatically after 5200. With this manifold, it drops hardly at all.

Well, it seems that Courtesy MIGHT be able to get these for a bit less than I can in 2-4 weeks. - $350

So do you guys want me to stop this GD or not? I don't want to be stuck with a bunch of inventory I can't move without losing my shirt. i literally make $20 on each of these, and taking a $180 bath per unit would be over $1800 for me.

However -
There is also a good chance that Courtesy is not selling them that cheap, or that they may be getting the wrong manifold, or that it's all a bunch of BS. The information has not yet been verified.
Noone really knows yet.

My problem is that my supplier is making the order this week. So I have to either continue or cancel this week to save my own ***. That means everyone here will be locked in once this order is completed.

That means if you want to drop out, you can, but you'll need to find someone to take your spot.

If everyone is still in, I will continue with the order.

Let me know.

As far as I'm concerned a deal is a deal. Would I rather have paid $350? Hell yes, but I committed to Ian's deal and I'm sticking with it. Keep me on the list.

Do we have a delivery date yet? Please excuse if that answer is already burried in this thread somewhere.

It's sounding more and more like it's true.

I appreciate Scruit and PhatBastard's honor in this deal, but I'm very worried not everyone else will do that, and many will bail....

So for now, the deal is on hold. I have sent my supplier an E-Mail letting him know to stop the order.

I hope I get him in time.

If you all still want this to go through, then let me know ASAP. My supplier is going on vacation later this week, so I need confirmation now if everyone is staying in.

I'm really sorry, but I'm not rich, and I can't afford to lose that much money, or to ask my supplier to lose that much money.

IanS

So PLEASE Send me E-mail at cyberoptik@cablespeed.com knowing your opinion.

Thanks!

Ian,

If you decide to put the order on hold then I will understand. If you decide to go ahead then I will stay in. I too am curious about the $350 VI deal, but I told you I'd order one and I'm not gonna let you take the $$$ hit by me breaking a deal to save myself some money.

You supplier is going on vacation, eh? How long for? If it's gonna take 2-4 months to order then what is another couple of weeks? What we really need to a definite yes or no on the $350 deal. My preference would be to wait until we get a definite answer on the $350 VI. ie if it doesn't pan out then maybe we order from your supplier when he gets back from vacation.

But again - if you decide to go ahead and order the MEVI through your supplier, then I *will* stay in the deal.

Thanks Scruit - You rock.

The problem is Rammadan - 2 Months he'll be on vacation.

It's not just a couple of weeks. That's why I need verification by the end of this week from everyone.

I've send everyone E-Mail, with the exception fo these 4 people, who I could not seem to find an address for:

Maz
Chebosto
Matty
Carnagemaxima

2 people have already dropped out, but for different reasons.

I'm hoping everyone reads this thread. If I don't hear back from them tomorrow, I'll send them all mail using the .org.

Guys, if you do read this, send mail to cyberoptik@cablespeed.com and let me know your plans.

Did the 1st batch of MEVI's arrive yet? I know the second order is dependent on the first order arriving and being correct. Just curious 'cos there's no update on the 1st page.

Also: Ian - If YOU were to call Curtosey (sp?) Nissan and talk with their parts guy when he has one in front of him then you would be best placed to determine if it's the correct one and not the 2.5 manifold. You could ask him about the port shapes etc.

Also, what is the 'support piece' that is missing? Can it be easily fabricated by someone with metalworking tools/welder/grinder? (I will ask this same question in the $350VI thread - doesn't mean I'm going wbbly on this GD! If nothing else I can probably fabricate a bunch of these and sell them to the $350VI crew)

I'm not sure. i was looking at that too.

The part they mention 14041, I don't have on any of my diagrams that I can find.

That REALLY makes me wonder if they're looking at the diagram for a 2.5L.

Yes, the 2nd GD is dependant on the 1st GD Arriving, but my supplier will order them anyway this week, knowing I will be receiving them this week.

Except that I have asked him to hold on to ordering until i sort this out.

Here's an exceprt from their list of parts for the COVER:

--------------------------
1 x cover 14041-38U00
1 x bolt 01121-04881
1 x support 14017-38U00
--------------------------

They say 14041 is the cover itself, and the only thing called a 'support' is 14017 and this is present on the US-spec manifold.

Here's the diag again.

Note the two blue circles; The one on the left highlights the 'support' 14017. The one on the right highlights the P/N for the cover. It's not 14041...

If this is the support they mean then we already have it, don't we?

When you got your mevi, did you have to use a different rear support at the rear corner to the plenum(passenger sie) or was the existing support arm used? Your plenum kit just consisted of the maifold, butteryfly assembly, the secondary plenum and various bits to the actuator, right?

Does the list of part numbers for your supplier match the part numbers (regardless of which parts are or are not included in cranman's /your GDs) that cranman is using in Japan?

Also, was there some confusion about these manifolds having an EGR port, or am I thinking about somehing else?

I hope this is settled soon. :-/ There's a lot of people wanting MEVIs and nobody wants to spent more than they have to - but nobody wants to spend $350 and wind up with the 2.5 manifold either...

I'm getting a Red X

Tell me what you mean in this diagram:

www.cyberhub.net/intake/diagram.jpg

14017 is already on the stock US manifold. YOu don't need it with the kit.

Well, it seems almost noone is replying to my E-Mails/posts about this.

So far who's in -
Scruit
1st97SE
MaxxThiss

Who's out -
KMax2988

I haven't heard from anyone else on whether they're in or out.

I need these people to either post here and let me know, or send me E-Mail @ cyberoptik@cablespeed.com:

Some of these people I have not been able to send E-Mail to, either because their addresses no longer resolve, or they didn't send E-Mail to cyberoptik@cablespeed.com, and got deleted from my Hotmail account.

The people I need to hear from are:

maz
Chebosto
maxxthiss
matty
carnagemaxima
Lowfunds69
z30maxima
stevedabomb

in summary - Courtesy MAY have these in a couple of weeks for $350+shipping - You would still need to buy the RPM Switch, Solenoid, etc.

Then again, they may have the wrong part, or it may all be a fabulous rumor.

So who's still in and who's not? I have until Sunday to either cancel the order with my supplier or keep it.

Thanks,
IanS

Any day now. I've got a copy of the invoice, so I'm going to call British Airways today and see if I can't get a track on it.

I'll let you all know in the 1st GD post "Variable Intakes Continued"

But generally, they ARE on a plane, and they will be here anytime.

I'm talking to my supplier over Messenger right now.

Thank GOD I got ahold of him.

OK, I have confirmed 6 orders (1 extra, which I can afford)

If anyone else is going to confirm, I need to know tonight.

The GOOD news is that he's calling Japan right now and trying to work a better deal - I may be able to drop my price - we'll see, no promises yet.
