Sent people emails on what was going on that have sent me stuff. Just wanted to let everybody know that I had contacted the GM guys and they said they didn't have them in stock when I had ordered the 9 I ordered on February 19th...ended up calling them and they said it shipped and should be here no later than the 11th of March...gave me a tracking number and it hit my city yesterday but didn't recieve it, so hopefully I'll have it Monday/Tuesday and get the orders out to you guys so you can install them next weekend. Sorry about wait guys and thanks for the patience.

Have a great weekend,
John

Got the parts yesterday

Just wanted to let you guys know I got it yesterday and am shipping today. Was going to look for the adpator at auto zone, checkers, or pep boys. If I can't find the adpator's I'll just include two wire butts that you can stick in it if I can't find the adaptor...just electrical tape up. Because I don't want to keep you guys waiting.

Should have it Saturday, because it is 2-3 days.

Yep, that is what we are looking for. Haven't found one successfully yet, and didn't know the part number from GM to order it, but putting in 2 wire butts sit pretty snug. but I would like to find the clip to clip in there, but places I've gone don't have them in stock

Hope that answers your questions

Shipped out the kits

So shipped out the kits. I'll try to get you a picture. But to give you an idea the vacuum switch has an adaptor that clips in kinda like how your spark plugs have the plastic thing that plugs into it, and to get to your spark plug you have to unplug the plastic thing that snaps in and then your able to pull it out (of course when you unscrew it) Anyway there is supposed to be a plasic clip to attach the vacuum switch to wires for the power and the switched ground from the RPM switch...but because I can't find a clip I just put 2 wire butts in one for the positive and one for negative and it fits perfectly. You'll understand when you see it. I went ahead and already put them in so you know what I meant when you get the kit.

I'll get pictures as soon as I can hopefully that clearned it up and didn't make it any muddier (is that a word?)

It seems that everything is about a 8 week turn around unfortunately...and there are some people that have had the unfortunate luck of waiting a lot longer because of some miscommunication with my supplier and I around Early december. But, everything has been rectified...just waiting for my supplier to ship out like 5 orders that that problem caused but it seems like everything is moving smoothly again.

I'm still doing it and even if I stop if someone was to PM me or email me I would still be willing to hook them up...so I guess basically to answer your question I'll be doing this until there is no one interested any more!!!

correct VI?

A while ago I heard that there was another VI being sold that didn't work for our car, can anyone confirm this? If so what is the easiest way to tell the two apart from each other? My roomate said that he remember something about one having a circular intake runner and the other having an oval one...?

Yup its been 5 months since I've ordered my VI. Oh well, I'm just glad that everything is working out finally. Assuming I get my VI by monday or so, I'll try to see if I can get a dyno or at least some g-tech results by the end of next week.

There are 2 types one for a 3.0L which is the oval intakes which is what I'm selling the circle ones are for teh 2.5L which are sold on over sea models. Hope that answers your question.

Best way to do this...color coded the wires. So red goes to postitive on battery terminal...and positive on vacuum swith which is either side (doesn't really matter) of the vacuum switch goes to the positive on the battery terminal also. Black is negative wire for RPM switch...can ground it anywhere you want. The Green wire is the for the RPM signal from the rpm switch use the wire tap to tap into the coil. And the white wire goes from the RPM switch and to the other side of the vacuum switch to ground it to flip it over. That should take care of the wiring.

Vacuum tubing (determine were your going to place things in the engine compartment and cut vacuum tubing to lengths you need), Put the "T" in the fuel pressure vacuum tube then from the "T" put the vacuuming tubing to one side of the vacuum (bigger side) then the smaller side put vacuum tube from that to the side of the vacuum switch that doesn't have that sponge stuff on it...then from the sponge stuff take that off and put rest of the vacuum tube to the actuator on the VI. Hope that makes since.

If you still need help I can see if I can get a picture of everything put together,
John

And here is the link to the install again if needed http://www.vanillaice.com/webmasters/hype/mrc/mevi.htm

Thanks John! I'm not 100% sure. But I'm sure I'll get a better idea when I lay the stuff out around the car. I'm not doing the install myself anyway. But I just want an idea incase the installer has any problems. Thanks again. =)

Have mine most of the way installed, mechanic says that I need a 'check valve' to connect to the vacuum canister. Anyone else have this problem with the install? I figured that everything we needed was included with the installation kit.

Are you getting your kit from John also or you buy your own?If you get it from john I think the check valve already built into the vaccum canister.Hope someone know will clear this up for you.

Aaron,

96_vqmax is right. The canister john gave us is the NAPA one. The check valve is supposed to be built in.

Like posted by Zumble and vq the check valve is included in the vacuum tube itself, don't need a seperate "check valve".

Sorry new job requirements at work allow less and less time online to read and respond to email...but just so your aware it looks like the second payment will be due around mid-April that is the time frame my supplier gave me for the VI being in hopefully by April 10th I'll have the exact date.

Hope that helps and I'm guessing you sent me an email so I'll double check on that when I get the time,
John

received my kit but having trouble

I received my kit two days ago. Thanks John. However I am having trouble installing the VI. There is a tube that runs from my EVAP to the manifold but on the VI the fitting is the wrong size. Is this right? I have a 98. Also there was a vacuum hose leading to the intake manifold right after the TB and right on top but on the VI there is no fitting. Should I leave this vacuum tube disconnected? Your help is appreciated.

You can leave that one vacuum tube disconnected. About the one being the wrong size I haven't really heard of that...but if the tube is too big just zip tie it down or just get an adaptor at like checker's auto, but I don't know exactly how it isn't fitting. If you could take a picture that would help...or maybe someone that has installed in on a 98 and up might be able to answer your question a little better.

Hope that helps,
John

Guys, please be patient with the guys doing the MEVI GD's. It takes time for these things to hit the US. John is not a crook so just give him time. Everyone that has a VI had to wait 6 weeks or more to get them in hand.

Please be patient!
