Easier said than done. I'd honestly take my money back now if I could. If i don't receive my manifold soon or get any updates from John, i'm going to have to see what actions I can take to try to get my $700 back.

I haven't disappeared

I just am super busy with work trying to work out all the wrinkles with my contact in Japan. It usually is very smooth but it has just been a pain in the butt lately. I apologize for not answering everybodies emails...with work, family emergency's, and trying to figure out exactly what is going on in Japan...I haven't had much free time to respond. I will get to people's emails if you have emailed me.

Main reason haven't said anything because I truly don't have anything waiting on updates on the second orders when they'll be in so I can recieve the second payment and just waiting on tracking numbers for the 1st set of orders. I truly apologize for the inconvience. It seems no matter if you go through me or Ian that it seems to get some type of wrinkle. I'm not ripping anybody off. My supplier will come through just taking some time. But, I understand all the frustration. I'm frustrated too...it isn't fun having to spend free time emailing people back telling I don't have any new info and telling like 10 people that. And because a change in my job I can't spend time at work answering emails...which is why you normally about 1-2 months ago if you emailed me you would get a response right away.

Deezo thanks for the help. I'm trying guys. I was expecting the GM part that Deezo showed me last week didn't get it...and the tracking said it would be here. Once I get it and verify it works I'm ordering the batch for the kits...so hopefully sometime soon I'll have it. So I can at least get out the kits to people that have paid the full ammount.

Guys I'm really sorry about the hassles, and the frustations and I really appreciate all your patience with me and I know a lot of your patience is running thin. But, just bare with me and we'll get it all work out.

Hope everyone has a great week,
John

I'll admit, I'm definitely lacking in the patience area. But hey ya'll...we're getting MEVI's!! I guess the good things in life take time, I mean we could all drive Honda's like the rest of the world, and have VTEC which is a dime a dozen,...personally I'd rather drive a MEVI Maxima. Speaking of which...is there anyway we can get "MEVI" or "VI" emblems made up? Or maybe "SE-VI"? Would any of you be interested if I was to look into it? Post, PM, or e-mail me with your thoughts.

Update:

I got an email back from Harlan and he is still alive and producing the RPM Switches. I emailed him because people said they were having problems contacting him. I'm on my way to 14's.

So does this mean those of us that are waiting, and have already put down the first half of the moneys, are going to get our kits soon? That would be nice...I can atleast get that part of the install done.

Thanks.

Any updates? I'd really like to have some kind of projected date for when those of us who ordered our manifolds 4+ months ago will receive them.

thanks deezo for the heads up on that...$18 shipped is a great price.

here it is mounted on the manifold.... it had a nice bracket to mount it with. a word of caution though, the electrical connectors are VERY small. you have to solder some lead wire in there to get it to function. and also the switch is made to have a GM plug plugged into it so the deep plastic plug has to be cut or melted to get down in the deep hole. but not too difficult in the whole realm of installing the VI.

that stinks that you guys are having to wait soo long for your VI's. i guess i lucked out by buying one that was in the states and only had to wait 3 days. thanks Mark! (sparkymax)

Good news!!!

Finally got an email back from my supplier. He had an emergency business trip to the US for some customs problems...and just got back last night. He actually called me last night when he had got back...wasn't a wake but it was on my answering machine...which I thought was really cool...because I never called him. He just called to tell me that I had an urgent email. Got the email this morning and he explained about is business trip.

NEway, he is shipping out two shipments one today and then one on Monday because he has to package all of them up to send. So, I will have tracking numbers for several people tomorrow. Then he will be getting me an update for the people who have paid half of when those parts are supposed to come in so we can figure out when the other half is due.

I did order the switch from GM for all my kits...got it to work and sent out the first kit with the GM part to BBaker Yesterday. Also looking for an adaptor for the GM part while it is on it's way...sent BBaker just some wire butts that fit in and he'll just crimp one side to the wires and the others side just plug them in...and tape it up with electrical tape.

Kits should be ready to ship by end of next week. Looks like everything is back on track after a huge delay. I apologize, but it is all getting rectified.

Have a wonderful week guys, I'll get to the emails people sent me as soon as I have the time.

Thanks again for your patience,
John

Believe me it definitely is. Because, I started to get a little worried when I hadn't heard from him in so long...which is not normal for him. But, now he explained it all it allows me to breathe easy.

He is getting three others out this week...yours, Jay25, and Maximamoose, should get your tracking numbers sometime this week. He wasn't able to get them all out at once. Because of othe pressing business. But you will have your tracking numbers by the end of this week (I'm guessing Wednesday or Thrusday)!!!

Mine says it reached my local airport 3 days ago. Might be clearing customs or something.

I got my Variable Intake in today! The packaging was excellent. Everything seems to be there. Everything is individually boxed inside the larger box. The unit was a lot lighter than I expected.

Now, what gaskets do I need besides what came with the VI? I want to be sure I don't have any leaks.

John came through for me. I'm sure he'll come through for you guys.

I just put mine together too. I see three holes that would potentially need gaskets. One is the throttle body gasket, the other is the EGR. Whats the other one? Does it need a gasket?

that would be the Idle Air Control Valve. the gasket off the old one will be in very good condition. you can re-use it. i would definately get a new TB gasket. if you get a new EGR gasket make sure you get the bigger one that the dealer has. the dealer says there are 2...they look identical...but one is bigger. hope that helps you out.

Cool, that's the info I was looking for. The bigger EGR gasket tip should be helpful too. Thanks for the help.
