Updates

Sorry, been really busy with Holidays, weddings, work...you name it I've been busy with it...sorry about the delays. And thank you itsgt for posting that on the org. I really apprecaite it. Yeah there was a huge mix up a while ago which we found out about on the 28th of December. But, the other thing is that it is the Japanese new year or something over there and everything is closed until the 5th January...so he should have the money hopefully sometime this week for Aaron Maxima, Zumble88, maximamoose (turned out to be like the y-pipe sorry), stevechicagoSC, Jay25, Nismo, Brodaiga, and Ryan(don't know your name on the org sorry). And for the other set of people...that aren't listed here the other half will probalby be due at the end of the month because of this back up. I apologize for the inconvience. The whole mix up is I transferred money early December and he thought I was just taking a break with the Christmas Holiday and New Year...so he didn't want to bug me about the money, plus he was on some business trips himself. Then on like the 27 I wrote him and he responded telling me that he didn't recieve the money and explained that he thought I was just taking a break...and when I went to check the bank acct. that I have set up seperately to wire him the money...it was sent...needless to say I was ****ed off at the bank. Hope that clears everything up.

I recieved the RPM switches while I was gone this week...so I should have the kits done soon. Just so everyone knows...because I haven't kept on the board...Dawes doesn't sell the devices that we were using anymore so I'm having to go to a junk yard and get them off cars for the vacuum switch. Just to give everybody a heads up. Dawes was going to tell me where I could get them but he never responded after telling me he would like the second week of December and did follow up but no response. Does anyone here know of where you can get them??? Or if other people have found another place to find it. Thanks for the help..otherwise I'm just going to the junk yard and I'll make sure we get ones that work...that is what I'm using for my car just to let you know.

Hope that clears up everything and answers all the questions people have had,
Have a great week,
John

Well, if I can locate a place that sells them I'll definitely let you know. But, at this time I've done a lot of searching and no luck in finding.

Incredible!

Okay, now I've had my Max for about 3 months now, just hit 83,000 tonight! I was wondering, does this MEVI really give 40-50 hp? Are there any dyno charts or paperwork to prove this? And if it does give that much to HP, what about Torque? The less restricted the air, the lower the torque goes, right? I had a good discussion about how doing an full "air job" (intake, exhaust, etc) will give hp, but lose torque. Wondering if anyone could clear that up for me. And also, is it okay to have such high mods on a car with 83,000 miles? I know there are probably people out there with like 150,000 on their car modded, but I just wanted to be sure. Gotta pamper my baby! I'm a teenage mother (17, high school senior, guy...not girl)

It doesnt really "add" hp, its more like maintains peak hp all the way to redline instead of dropping around 5k or so.

http://forums.maxima.org/showthread....hreadid=179680

read that, basically it mostly has its advantages over a stock manifold where you are in the upper rpm range ie -highway

Look at what Mishmosh found:

Take a look at the boost solenoid used in these GM turbos. It looks to fit the bill to a tee. Remember, Dawes Devices was catering to this market as well. 3 ports, one used for a vent. Site: http://www.tragacs.com/turbo.html
Solenoid:

I emailed the site author about the solenoid and he replied today:

"...a couple of bucks."

Sorry about late reply

Getting to emails now just been out of town on business and I was supposed to have my emails forwarded to another address while I was traveling...but didn't get any of them and I was expecting when I got back for most of you guys to have gotten your VI's but I think my supplier might be on a business trip also. Anyway I'll double check sorry about the inconvience of not responding right away. I'll get to your guys emails as soon as possible doing a lot of catch up at work. Have a great day

For those of you waiting for the VI, do not sweat it. John was a great guy to deal with when ordering the Vi, got it in the first deal he did. When dealing with a foreign culture, holidays etc. unforseen things do happen. I know this from when I ordered. There was a slight delay but, when I got my VI it was professionally packaged and John provided me with a tracking number when it was shipped.

I do knopw that patience can be a little hard to muster when you are eagerly awaiting a new mod. It will be worth it!

How much is the real Dawes device anyways? I already bought the install kit from him which included the cost of the dawes so I think that I should be reimbursed for it or recieve one of those since I paid already.

Money was transferred waiting on a reply with shipping info. With the kits I ordered the GM part to see if that will work for the vacuum switch...should have it by the end of the week. That is all I'm waiting on for the kits. And the first kit is going to be sent out to BBaker when I make sure the vacuum switch works. So all the other kits should be done by the end of next week if the GM part works out, which I'm sure it will just don't want to invest in 10 and then them not work.

Hope that helps shed some light on the subject,

Ummm......maybe...I mean No I haven't forgot...crap ok I forgot. I'll find out how much it is going to cost, maybe to be a little cheaper I can have it included in someones order so you just have to pay for the shipping in the US and not for the shipping overseas like UPS, Fedex, or USPS. But, I'll double check on that.

Well, when you give someone 700+ dollars and they tell you they will deliver in 4-6 weeks. Then 4-6 weeks turns in to 3 months. They disappear for 2 weeks. Then you directly ask what the status is. He comes on and replies to someone else but ignores all status questions. That would make anyone nervous! Another org member has actually asked for a refund (via email) if the VI cant be delivered in 2 weeks. I really think that is a reasonable demand. Still no reply to the email from John though. It's been two days. He used to be on AIM every day, not anymore.

But you fail to realize that I was one of the people that got robbed by some punkass in the middle east. I lost $650 in that deal. I put my trust in John and he came through so let him work out the issues with the supplier. It took more that 2 months for me to get mine but it wasn't a bother because it was to cold out anyway to put the thing on. At least you would get your money back if something were to go wrong.

I don't have a problem with waiting. I think a status report is what everyone wants.
