RVM Racing Lightened Crank Pulley's - Group Deal
From what I hear, its adviseable to do the crank seal behind the pulley because of opportunity. Its only like a couple of bucks, is a wearable part, and is easily replaced if the pulley is off. For less than 10 bucks, ask yourself 'Why not?'

My pulley looks great, aluminum, under 2 lbs. I am planning to do mine Saturday if the weather here isn't too bad, possibly Sunday. I'll post results!

Pulley is on!
Well, I was able to get my RVM pulley on today. Installation wasn't too bad but would go much quicker next time. I tried using an impact wrench to loosen the main pulley bolt, but it wouldn't budge! I have an Auto, so then we put a ratchet on the bolt and put a jack stand directly under it and then bumped the starter. First time, it broke the craftsman socket (1/2")!!! Second time using a different socket, it broke loose. Got the belt tensioners loose (power steering is a little tricky). New pulley and belts went on like clockwork. Bando belt part numbers are 6PK1045 and 4PK770, they worked perfectly.
The best install instructions I'd printed came from a search here, I'll post the thread if I come across it...
I can't say what the difference is right now because it's been raining here all day, although my low-end might be a little stronger (unless it's my imagination).

I don't now if this is the best instructions but here is what I wrote after installing my prototype ASP underdrive along with the belt lengths I used on my 2K2.
1. If a lift if not available jack car up sufficiently to perform work under car. Use jack stands for safety.
2. Remove front passenger wheel and tire.
3. Remove passenger side plastic splash guard for easy access to pulley.
4. Loosen 12 mm locking bolt on power steering adjuster. Head of bolt is facing toward inner fender well, perpendicular to adjuster bolt and just to the rear of power steering pulley. Access to this bolt is best from under car.
5. Loosen 14 mm power steering pump rotator bolt on engine side of pump. It is accessible behind rear precat with a swivel or series of swivels and long extension from center of vehicle. The oil line to the oil filter is directly in line with this bolt.
6. Turn 12 mm adjuster bolt clockwise, as in tightening, to loosen belt. This bolt faces towards the ground and is located on bottom of adjuster. Use a long extension and swivel for access.
7. Loosen 14 mm ac/alternator tensioner pulley bolt. This bolt is in the center of the pulley and holds the pulley to the tensioner bracket. With bolt loose tensioner pulley is free to slide up and down on bracket within the limits of the 14 mm adjuster hex bolt. Turn 14 mm adjuster bolt counter clockwise to loosen belt and clockwise to tighten.
8. With both tensioners in the loose belt position, remove both belts.
9. Use a pneumatic impact wrench remove 19 mm center bolt holding crank pulley to shaft. Pulley is free to remove.
10. Use motor oil to lubricate ASP underdrive crank pulley seal ring on pulley hub. This insures lubrication to the crank seal when installed. Install pulley by hand locating keyway groove to key. Insure that pulley bottoms out on the crank shaft.
11. Reinstall crank bolt and torque to 140 ft/lbs. Locktite 242 thread sealer is recommended on threads.
12. For ease of belt installation, adjust both belt tensioners to insure plenty of free play to belt. Install Gates belt part number K040292 (or equivalent) on power steering and K060408 on ac/alternator. Insure both belts are properly positioned in grooves in all pulleys.
(I'm guessing on this one, I just tighten it until it felt right to me. Might have to refer to shop manual for belt tightening)
13. Tighten belts until belt has 1/4" movement at center of belt. Do not over tighten. Remember the power steering pump 12 mm bolt turns counter clockwise, as in loosening, to tighten belt.
14. Reinstall splash guard and wheel.

After driving my car a little while with the new UDP, my SES light came on - and I notice a miss around 4500.
I posted this thread to hopefully get some help...

Maybe RVM can make us pullys for are power steering, alternator, and air cond,The honda boys have these. A side benefit of PS pully would be tighter steering .I want 12s NA i need all the mods i can get,Too bad hondas have everything.

well i have tested the car on the track with the new pulley...
didn't see much of a difference... may be it's that my ecu hasn't had time to learn the new pulley being that i only had it for like 3 days or so..... and i haven't gun it till i got to the track......

but like i said i didn't do any WOT run when i got it.... may be my ECU didn't adjust to it...... but i'm going to go again next week... and see... hopefully by then my ECU has adjusted to the new light pulley... and see some difference in time

Did you reset the ECU when you installed the pulley? I think that it needs more time for it to adjust. But don't be dissapointed with your times. Lots of variables affect track times so who knows. Next time I go to the track I am going to do a couple of WOT runs to see if it helps. I run consistent 15.7s stock, so I want to see if doing this will help. Good luck next week.

ohh ur running 15.7 stock... i guess i don't have much to complain then... b/c stock i was doing 15.2 and with new pulley on i was doing 15.4.... hopefully next time i go to track i can see some improvement...... i can't wait till i get the ypipe
... i heard that that is the best mode to get the most extra HP other then force induction....

Sterling, is everything OK, if anything, we can make an addition to the instruction sheet to place a warning about that. Also, will definatley like to hear the outcome when the car is in perfect running condition.
Group Deal is still on for Org members, we will offer only this site that price. So if you ever wanna order it, just mention Maxima.org and we will sell it at 80.00 shipped.

It would be good to put a warning about using a chisel bit in the small access door because the reason it happened is because I read it on "Greg's Maxima site."

To RVM Racing
Hi Guys,
I called you guys earlier (spoke to Fabio and Eli) to secure one pulley for me. I am on the way to NY as we speak, and I will go to your place on Monday.
My question: I will pay cash and on site, do I get better than US$ 80?
Let me know,
Armand

Bad experience with you, guys at RVM racing
I drove 1000 miles to Long Island from Milwaukee only to be "kicked out" in front of your store.
Spoke with Fabio on Thursday, Dec. 26 asking for part numbers for 97 Max. Got them and called Jeff at Maximum Tuning shortly afterwards to make sure he is ready. Spoke with Eli on Friday, Dec. 27 to reserve a pulley for a pick-up on your store at Terminal Road on Monday morning, Dec. 30th. Eli told me that he still had 20+ left, and will put one aside for me to be picked up on that Monday.
Monday Morning, December 30th.
Called Jeff and ask him to order the part numbers. I got my friend's pulley on hand to compare it with RVM (just for curiosity). Drove from NYC to Terminal Road at Long Island at 9.30am. Got there at 10.45am.
Knocked on the door, heard people shouting inside and told me to "GO AWAY!". Knocked again, same answer. Banged on the door this time, and the shoutings were louder and told me to go away and yelled "WE ARE CLOSED" from inside. I shouted that I am from Milwaukee, WI and had to pick up the pulley from you guys. No answer this time.
Definitely not a good experience with you guys. At 10.55, another guy with a Jetta came and he was trying to pick up his rims. I stayed until 11.20 and gave you guys another knocking on that heavy door but no one answered. The guy with Jetta stayed when I left.
Had enough, went back to Manhattan. Got back home at 2pm. Called Jeff to return the belts on December 31, 2002.
Total time spent : 4 hours
Satisfaction : 3 extremely ****ed people and I am sorry for Jeff for having him order the belts only to be returned.
Perhaps I am just a Midwesterner, but telling me to go away on the day that we were supposed to meet was just plain rude.
Lesson learned : Perhaps we shall go with Unorthodox next time.
Happy New Year guys, hopefully you guys will not yell to incoming customers this year, especially to someone like me who is 1000 miles from home with car ready to get its pulley transplanted.

damn.... that sucks.... can't believe they did that.... and i remember them bit*hing about how .org members didn't responded fast enough with response to pulley..... and now that .org memeber wants pulley they shut them out..... wow... what a way to run a biz....
To person above who came. I first want to apologize greatly. That day, we discovered a theft of an AEM EMS computer, and locked the shop down with the workers inside until one of them confessed. We were in there until 3 pm until the jerkoff worker who stole the computer confessed, if you dont believe me, i will give you the workers # so you can yell at him for causing you the trouble. I greatly apologize, and will be willing to sell you a pulley for half off to make up for it.
I apologize for the inconveniece, but a 1,100 dollar AEM computer is no joke, and the matter had to be handled.
Also, Fabio NO LONGER works for us, he is the thief, and if you know who he is, tell him to cough the money up

Wow!
Seems to me that I am not the only one who was having a rough day at that time, eh?
I could concur that you guys were pretty intensed when I was there standing in front of your door.
No problem, I am glad that you solve the problem before the new year coming. I don't know your name, but I will give you guys a call on Monday morning next week.
If Fabio is no longer in the circle, so be it. I'll just have to find a reputable shop to install the pulley here in Milwaukee/Chicago area.
Thank you for the explanation,
Armand
