NEED INPUT on a POSSIBLE Group Deal for Body Kits (3rd, 4th & 5th Gens)

Don't Delete it this time PLEASE! Considering I am actually trying to help people out, and this isn't BS!

TO EVERY MAXIMA OWNER:

Alright here it is laid out straight and simple, I am not pleased with the options that Maxima owners have for bodykits so I have found a place in California that will make any of the Gens custom Body kits.

Here's how it works we can get any style of Custom Body Kit made for any car (NO BS)! That means what ever style of Front Bumper Replacement, side skirts, and Rear Bumper Replacement we want, no more of this silly lip BS! Although it is made from Hand Laiden multi-layer fiberglass it is not Urethane, but nearly just as strong.

The Cost will be $650.00 + $130 Shipping "EACH" to anywhere in the continental USA, but this is not limited to just USA owners!

ONLY a Total of $780.00 all together and tell me who will build us a custom body kit for that low a price, and if we get more then just the initial 11 needed like 20 or more then most likely I can get the price reduced a little more (no promises, but I will try my hardest!).

So all I need to know now is exactly what you all want, so lets get cracking, and if there are any photoshop people out there your help in this matter would be greatly appreciated so we can all get an idea

3rd Gens =
4th Gens =
5th Gens =

Fill in the blank(s) for me guys please as I would really love to get this things going. Also if you want your very own custom kit designed specific for you this can be done also for a slightly higher price! Please either Email me at TheEdgeProductions@yahoo.com, catch me on AIM/AOL at DJThrilla2, on MSN at ICONOCLAST_PROD@hotmail.com, or on ICQ under the name TheEdgePerformance, or call me anytime up till 12 midnight EST any day of the week, and if I am not here leave a detailed message!

Thanks and hope to hear from everyone soon,

The Edge Productions

Again like I said this is no BS, and the company that will be making the kits is located in Walnut, CA in the Los Angeles metro area.

Now all I need is your input

Thanks!

Personally, I don't think any bodykit is worth more than $500. Make one and price it at that much and I will be among the first ones to order.

As far as design goes, no one could really give you advice here, unless you build it first and show us pics installed. There are some dope bodykits advertised in SuperStreet mag but who knows if they will look good on Max.

Not true! Only if it is a single or small amount of layers and poor quality! I have seen fiberglass kits on other cars I.E. a friend of mines Cavalier that was 7 layers of fiberglass and was as strong as the Urathane. I am like you CHris and would much refer Urathane, and will push the company I am working with towards it if possible, but I am as of yet uncertain of what the pricing will be then, if it is at all possible!

As to what Kev said, I cannot get a kit down to $500 as my cost is above that as of now unless you all want to splurge and send a front, and rear bumper to Hong Kong and wait a **** year to get results.

The time frame we are looking at here is immediate startup, and then a little over 2 weeks+ then a total of 6-8 weeks to have them shipped to our doors direct!

I don't care how many layers it has or how strong it seems. The truth of it is, on impact it will not hold up. Fiberglass will crack easily and Sarona has proven that with their kits. Fiberglass also is not as flexible as Urethane making it for much harder installations. If you can prove you can undercut big bodykit companies with a supposedly superior product, fine, but I doubt at that price it will be.

This is true, when I took the Stillen tour at Stillen Day, they explained how strong each one is and that is why they use urethane. He had a painted side skirt and twisted it and the paint did not chip or anything, you do the same with fiberglass...SNAP...

well then take 15 weeks but bring the price down, man. Make it more affordable and I am sure you will get plenty of business here. How come you can get a kit for a damn Civic for under 500 but cant get one for 5th gen?

You could for a 5th Gen if it wasn't so new and also if a ton of them had already sold exactly alike!

Not trying to be an *** but it does cost a lot of man hours and money to get a new one form fitted properly! $650 is not bad, take a look at the Sarona Prices, Kaminari, Erebundi, Veilside, Bomex, etc. and you will see they are remarkably higher in some instances, and all are more expensive the this for a full bumper replacement front and rear and side skirts, and those cheap Civic kits are cheap grade fiberglass that are shipped from CHina to the states on a boat that takes MONTHS to get here and all!

Yes I am speaking of the $200-$400 dollar kits especially made by GTP!

I thought about dealing with them and did some research. They are alright but shipping would be nuts and the turnaround time is insane due to them coming from China on a Boat! They are not many Multi-layers of Fiberglass hince why they are so balsted cheap!

Like I already said most of those cheap kits suck, and also you got to think there are a ton of Civics out there that do bodykits comparible to Maxima owners.

Just look at some of the group buys on www.VTEC.com, or some other sites and you will see why they have some silly support unlike the Maximas which mind you are getting better but still nowere near the support Civics, Accords, and Preludes are getting.

Think of it from a business aspect, we are only getting at least 11 kits and these others get 100+ at a time big profit margin difference so the kits can also be slightly cheaper due to the bulk of the buying.

New information!!!

Ok Here is new pricing and all!

For Fiberglass it will still be $650.00 + only now $20 up front to cover Handling then when you get the kit you pay the rest of the shipping so instead of $780 up front all it will be is only $670 instead! BIG difference!

Also upon talking to the owner of the manufacturer I found out to do a urethane mold would take many more hours of man labor and in fact costs them approximately $12,000.00 to do outright. SO urethane is a no go, but their fiberglass is super thick, and also they have recently done a few large orders for some people including 135 kits to owners of the new Pontiac Grand Am. I will see if I can get some pics of these so you all can see quality, but also you may want to check the grand am board which I will get the link to later today or tomorrow depending on my schedule availability.

So to summarize...

1) We are going with fiberglass for all the kits!
2) Price is still $650.00
3) You now only have to pay $20.00 for handling up front so shipping will be $110.00 when it arrives at your door
4) I already have a 5th Gen Donor car... Thanks to Maxedout2G!
5) Still need a 3rd Gen, and 4th Gen to be donor cars!
6) Still need to get a Photshopped Pic of the R33 Skyline kit on the 3rd Gen
7) 5th gen kit will be per the MaximaZero sig pic I have and is in the 5th gen discussion
8) 4th Gen kit will be a WRX style front bumper minus round fog lights
9) 4th Gen Kit will not include the Wide Body styling as Altima8 (Jeff) has a great deal on his and it would cost me the same as making the original kit to make these Jeff can beat that price
10) 4th Gen Kit still needs to have side skirts, and rear bumper decided on (how about either the R34 skyline or r33 skyline side skirts and rear bumper) Let me know!
11) 3rd Gen Kit will be either the r34 styling kit like pic I have from my old body kit post when I went by ICONOCLAST which I will get posted again, or it will be a complete r33 style kit (let me know ASAP!)

*** If you also cannot come up with the full $650 up front I can possbily work with you on a finacing plan of course being documented so neither you or I get burned!

That's all for now, and if you have any questions as always email me, IM me on AIM at DJThrilla2, or on Yahoo at TheEdgeProductions, or call me at the number listed below!

No the cost is insane! Unless you know someone who can make it for a feasable price. I sure don't! Just to do a Mold will cost over $10,000 easily and that is a low estimate.

UPDATE!!! UPDATE!!!

Everyone,

Sorry for the lag everyone I had to go lube my suspension and check all the bolts, and nuts on my suspension as I was having a bad squeak going around corners and all! Took car of it, and am back now!

As for things! Update again!

I found another company that I am going to become a satelitte company for! This one is located in Ontario the body kit should be better quality from the reviews I have read about body kits from the two individual companies.

I apologize that I switched companies on people and it may be more dificult to get a donor car now, but the fitting of these kits are guaranteed to be better as they have some experience with Nissan Products and more importantly Maximas.

If you have any concerns let me know! The Cost will be slightly higher then through the original company, but I am sure of the quality coming from this company.

The kits for the 5th gen would be close to Maximazero's sig pic, but slightly different as it is a Cwest skyline Replica kit with no need for the Grill.

The same style kit is also what will be used for the 3rd Generation making turnaround time quick.

As for the 4th Generation will will still go forward with your WRX style kit as discussed previously.

All said and done it will take possibly in the long run honestly maybe a tiny bit longer but could take only as long as before which was 6-8 weeks for the kits to be shipped out.

Please contact me with any concerns you may have as I am sure there are some ASAP!

Sincerely,

Jared E. Seymour

Everyone Within the Group Buys for Maxima Body Kits...

I regret to inform you all that I have to put the body kit group deals off for at least a week if not two or maybe slightly more as my grandmother in Virginia Beach, VA just died today at 10am approximately and we are leaving out of where I live in Lexington, KY to go there to take care of things and may not be back till at earliest Friday of this coming next week!

I will update this as soon as I return from the trip and thanks in advance for everyone understanding the predictament I am currently in and all. I wish all you all the best in the next few weeks and I will update the other group buy threads as well tonight with this information! If you have any question or comments please address these to my email address at TheEdgeProductions@yahoo.com.

Thanks a bunch!

Exactly, I would be very surprised if this deal went through. I tried to do the same thing for 5-Zigen Cat-Back exhaust system for maximas a year ago, back then the manufacturer only required like 5+ ppl paying $200 deposit up front in order for them to make a Cat-Back system for us...guess what happened

Show us the products first, then do a GB..it works that way on maxima.org

Well if that ends up happening so be it and that is everyone's loss not mine! Also I have many other concerns presently and will for some time to come with my grandmother's recent death.

Sorry to take such an attitude, but Body kit means Jack to my Grandmother's funeral, last wishes, and settling of the estate! If someone else wants to take on the responsibilty for any of the particular kits contact me via email at TheEdgeProductions@yahoo.com and I will do my best to respond whenever I humanly possibly can!

Alright everyone I am back! Sorry just got back today from the visitation and funeral, now fighting with hundreds of emails and so on!

The kits deals are still on and a go, but I need to get people to simply sign up now.

To recap the 3rd gen full kit will be a Cwest R34 skyline style close to what is on ALtima8 (Jeff's) car cept the rear bumper would differ to that of the actual Skyline rear bumper from the Cwest kit.

4th Gens we are still going forward with the WRX style kit but it will cost more if you want the kit as a Widebody kit.

5th Gens the Kit will also be a Cwest R34 skyline replica like the on on Altima8 (Jeff's) Altima for the front then side skirts and rear bumper is still undecided so hit me up with the ideas on that!

I really need to get this stuff going as I have to be back and forth between here and Virginia Beach, Va for the next 6 months most likely helping to probate and settle my late Grandmother Seymour's estate out in Va Beach.

Sorry for the lag in time everyone!

I am only going to be here in Lexington until Wednesday December 11th again so please contact me if you all are still interested in doing these group deals. I really would prefer to get these going as I have donor cars waiting also to get this show on the road for each of the Generations of Maximas.

I'm interested, but need to wait for the insurance comp to give me money. Also, can someone link me to site of how the body kit might look like for a 4th gen?
