Dimpled is available for an extra fee because they have to re-tool their machines ($20) Slotted and not cross drilled is also an option.
Can anyone clarify as to what performace/any differences there are between dimpled/drilled & slotted/or just slotted?

Slotted rotors

I'd be in for 5th generation slotted or cross drilled rotors.

To summarize in the fewest possible words, the dimpled rotors give you the benefits of a drilled rotor without the drawbacks of a drilled rotor (ie vulnerability to cracking, lower braking power due to decreased mass, etc). The slotted rotors serve a different purpose, namely to prevent glazing of the brakes since it is self cleaning and it keeps the operating temperature higher so you get that braking power right from the start.

That is why I want to try and get dimpled+slotted. Apparently this guy's hookup has Brembo rotors, but not drilled, slotted or dimpled by Brembo. He said that Brembo does not do their own drilling, etc. I talked to Southwest Autoworks and they said that the Brembo rotors that they sell have been drilled by Brembo. So I don't know whom to believe here. I don't think either of them are lying, but they could just have misinformed sources.

I don't really know either. The guy said that all these rotor places get drilling done aftermarket. Brembo just provides the blanks. Perhaps Brembo does offer drilled rotors, but are more expensive, explaining why SWA ones are more expensive as compared to these other rotor places.

I don't really care who drills the rotors, as long as they are reliable. These guys do have great prices. Does anyone have any experience with the guys who are doing the drilling, slotting and dimpling of these rotors? I don't want the rotor to fall apart after a year of use. I don't mind spending double this amount to get a rotor that someone reputable like Brembo drills, for the satisfaction of it not falling apart after a short period.

Another thing, does this guy offer any sort of a warranty? Thanks!

UPDATE!

5th gen (2000-2001) is now included in the Group Buy, however they are not Brembo Blanks being used. They are made by autospecialty.
Price remains the same for 5th and 4th gen. Can everyone ready to buy please email me at mojo_ato@yahoo.com with their Name and whether they need 4th or 5th generation? I want to verify the 20 people and at the same time collect email addresses to send out payment information.. The quicker we get 20 people, the quicker we get the rotors in hand.

Thanks!

Okay let me get this straight... now you're saying that the blank rotor themselves are NOT Brembo or is this ONLY for 2000-2001? Just need clarification because I'm hearing a few different things. Thanks!

Sorry if I worded it weird. The 2000-2001 only are not Brembo. The 4th gen ones are Brembo.

No pics, I'll see if I can get some from him.. I am thinking I won't be able to get pics however because he didn't have any on hand, that's why there was a delay to find them.

These are regular rotors with the cross drilled / slotted part done aftermarket. 90 Day Warranty..

Re: GB: Brembo Cross Drilled / Slotted Rotors

Could you hook me up with rears only? 5th gen? How much would they be shipped to Toronto, Canada?

These are Brembo Cross Drilled and Slotted. Cost will be 90 for the Fronts, 180 for the Fronts and Rears. Shipping will be $24 (Fronts only) or $39 (Front and rear) on the East Coast, $15 and $30 respectively for the West Coast. These seemed like good prices to me, if I am wrong, please let me know.
We need at least 20 people, so post up if you want in. When we have the 20 people, I will let everyone know the contact information, I will not be collecting money.

Rears are $90, don't know how much shipping will be. Will check with the person the rotors are coming from.

Also, he does not have any pics of the 5th gen ones. He does not have them in stock. He will be getting them once I confirm the group buy.

I only have 4 confirmations so far... If you want in, please email me at mojo_ato@yahoo.com with what generation max you want the rotors for so I can forward everyone payment information once the deal goes through.

I just got a reply. He said he can Zinc plate them for $10 ($5 if you're only getting front or back). For the people in Canada, he can ship USPS but has not given a price.

From the thread, we had a lot of people interested. Now that I started collecting information of those ready to buy, I only have 4 confirmations... What's going on? As soon as we get 20 people, we can get our rotors.

I've been trying to explain to everyone, the group deal is still going on, we just need 20 people.. According to the responses on the thread, we had maybe 16 people interested. Once I emailed everyone for contact information, I only got 4 confirmations.. So as soon as we get 20 people, we can all pay and get our rotors asap.

Hey man, I don't think I got a response from you to my last e-mail... the problem might be on my end though either in sending or not receiving all incoming e-mails...

Anyway just to avoid any confusion, here's my request... I need stock rotor size for a 95SE 11.02"x0.87" in the front and 10.94"x0.35" in the rear and I am looking for dimpled+slotted rotors with cadium plating.

Please give me the price of a set of 4.

Thanks!

I'm interested. Does slotting kill brake pads quicker? Would just having dimpled rotors work well? I don't want to go through a set of brake pads every year. But I do want better braking. And the price is definitely right.

Dimpled will be $20 extra because they have to re-tool the machine.. so $200 +shipping.

The store will only give us that price if we get 20 people, that's the point of a group buy. I am starting to think this may be a lost cause, I'm not getting any replies..

Hey MaxMoJO

What's the regular price, without the group deal?
I know that this might turn some people off, but if it's only a few $$ difference, maybe it can still be a deal for others.

Bottom line - if you need the brakes, and it's only a few bucks more, suck it up and get em folks. We're far too cheap on here (yeah, I know some of us can't afford the extra $10... but then why aren't you buying OEM?? ).

Sorry to bail on you. As mentioned in the email, KYBs and custom stereo were already in progress, and higher up the list.

Good luck!

We only have 6 confirmations.. the 16 in the initial post were only interested, when I emailed for confirmation, they either dropped out or didn't reply.
