no way guys - I'm not going to screw you over 3 weeks after release and have the price be $250.
No way.

You are not paying an extra $150 for the priveledge of being first.

You have to be aware that the INTENDED price is $250.

That would be VERY unfair. So, while I appreciate the sentiments, no way am I going to do that to you.

Uhhh...I though the final price on these were $180 for this group-deal??? Unless $250 was going to be the normal price for these once the this group-deal was over. BTW,What is up with this group deal is it a yay or nay situation???

$250 is final retail price.
Thus, once the first 50 have paid $180 each, you'd get $70 off the retail.

So, all of you that are "buy low and sell high" should see this as an opportunity to make an easy $50-70 with little effort.

Who knows, you might even keep the product cause you like it so much

Well, we have two options.

Either by Feb 12th we get all the participants or we refund OR

We give people an extra month, people sign up on board, etc. BUT, you risk losing $1.50 on your deposits due to the way Paypal refunds money.

BTW - to give you a rough idea:

I had 100 people sign up on IS300.net in 1 week.
I had 50 people sign up in 2 months - it takes time to start rolling.

I've had over 70 people purchase the IS300 kits.

umnitza, thanks for your straight down to the point reply. I appreciate it. As of one of the people who have made their required $50 deposit. I'll continue to wait to see if the required 50 gets met. It's tax-time right now, everybody should be getting their income taxes back for last year etc. Hopefully we'll get more interest soon and meet the required 50.

15 I believe.

BTW - there IS one other way.

If someone wants to take the chance - you can buy "slots".

One member on IS300.net bought 15 slots, got the kits, paid $180 for them, then sold all of them for $230 (actually has one left).

I'd say that's pretty good

Danger: you have to fork over a LOT more when the time is right for the kits

Positive: you can make some good money.

That is not a bad idea, i might buy 10 but i have to get back to you for definite. But i would want to charge more than $230, i'm thinking $250-$300 for those who were not as brave as the rest of us.

alot of that gd does not make sense, if the kits are for 2002+ maxs, why are they not HID?? I assumed that 02 maxs came with HID, maybe i am wrong.their kit does not iclude hid and could add it for an additonal 350, no the price is very different. 350+ 350=$700 for hid lights wih angel eyes? or $180 plus paying someone say $100 to do it for you = $280. Big price difference.

I can't tell you how many countless competitors and even people that were friends have tried to create the Demon Eyes look.

Look everywhere, it's all barely visible in a dark room and photography tricks abound. Not saying that's the case here, but it is 9 out of 10 times.

For those of you not following that thread:

By his own admission, those housings use an H4 retrofit HID kit. They do NOT use D2R bulbs like the OEM housings we have.

As such, I would not trust them. I have used retrofit HID kits. I tried it in three different cars with H4 (Maxima, Rav4, MR2). Every one was for absolute sh*t. And the Maxima was the worst. In all three cases, the stock H4 bulb put out a brighter, wider light pattern than with the HID kit. And yes, the HID kit was "optically correct." I checked myself. The arc bubble was the same exact distance from the base as the filament was on the H4. Granted, the HID kit was, hands down, better looking. But is that all we should be after?

The OEM housings, both look better, and light up the road better than either the H4 housings with halogen or with HID retrofit. And if/when you put in the angel eye kit, they WILL be superior to any aftermarket headlamp housing.

I would suggest sticking with Umnitza. I know I am. As for the housings this other guy is selling:
-They are not OEM, they are aftermarket.
-They do not use D2R. They use H4
-I would bet a small amount of money that the beam pattern is inferior.
-You will not be able to use your existing capsules or ballasts with them.
I am no expert, but if whoever this manufacturer is designed around an H4 bulb as opposed to a D2R bulb (if that is indeed what they did) they are going with the "keep costs down" school of thought. Otherwise they would have used D2R. Or they figured most people would just use colored H4 bulbs to save money. Either way it implies "cheapness."

I have no stake in this either way. If Umnitza's thing goes through, great. If it doesn't, oh well, I guess I wont have angel eyes. My point is that I am not biased towards one or the other. I have experience with the 2000 halogen housings with standard bulbs, colored bulbs, and HID retrofit. And I now have 2002 OEM housings in my car. So I have seen every variation.

So for those of you sitting on the fence. Get in on this deal. It is the best you are going to get.

The real angel eye kits out there on the internet (like the one Umnitza is customizing for us) go for what, 300? 350? 500? I have seen the prices. From reasonable to ripoff. But they are all more than this deal. And you have to figure out how to mount them.

So if: (1) you are only interested in looks, (2) dont care how much light output you get, (3) are too afraid to install the angel eyes, and (4) have the extra money, go with the other guy. And then sell your OEM housings. Judging by what I have seen on ebay, you are not going to get as much as you might think.

If any of the above four conditions dont apply to you however, I would go with Umnitza.

And finally, if you read this far, thank you and congratulations

Your response is almost as if I paid you to say EXACTLY that.

HID kits are VERY difficult to put together.
I know, I sell them.

I have MOLDED ballasts on my kits.

The issue with the Demon Eyes and why no one seems to be successful at doing it (you can't even get a straight answer from the other guy on his group buy regarding them), is that it's DIFFICULT!

I'm sure the guy is a good fellow: but answer the questions about them that are posed, that would help.

I want this to succeed. It will if you guys believe in it. We're do it. I release more photos this week.

Hey, be careful there...

He didnt pay me! I dont even know him! Really!

Anyway, that other guy responded with sort of a copout, saying that just to make it easy on everyone, he is just going to say that they are for 02-03 owners.

That doesnt answer anything.

caveat emptor

I'm not one to "*****" or hijack another thread of a vendor unless they wrong me first. I'll stay on the wayside.

But here's what I would like to know.

WHAT DO THEY LOOK LIKE?

After 12 posts, I'd say there's more than enough opportunity to go get that digi cam and snap a pic or two.

Heck I'll even host the picture

Just paypal the deposits - come one - it's like $50.

I can even get you a free upgrade if you do

It's a pretty cool upgrade 2X the brightness with no extra cost

Let's go.

I've always been an enthusiast.

Though I researched the 2000 6sp Maxima and found that a new one was $25.

So I bought an M3/4 with 40K on the clock and CPO for 27.5

No, wooo wooo is what Ronnie Woo Woo says when he is walking around Wrigley Field. You might have to be Cubs fan to know that one...

Anyway, it sounds like the other guy is legit. Now that he is answering some questions. Still no picture though.

But $350 for two housings with angel eyes? That has to be low quality. I am not sure I would trust it versus OEM Nissan housings. And how good can the angel eyes be?

Let's make THIS GD happen boys.

we need $1750 or 35 X50.

We're VERY good here, but we really need some support.

It's all proof of market. Companies these days (unlike the age of the dot bomb) can't simply go out and MAKE something and hope people will buy because it's cool.

That's a fast road to "going out of business".

It surprises me to see that this thread is still alive. So, the deadline is pushed back to Feb 14th? And now we only need 35 people to do it instead of the 50 people, putting $50 deposit? And is the price still at $180? If I put the $50 deposit, what are the chances that we'll get this GD through?

Looks like the other GD basically omits ALL Maximas...was interesting. Apparently those are just for I35's. Hopefully people interested in that thread will pay up here.
