well it would be nice to say that if we covered half of the production costs of the clips, then we'd be good, but if you think about it, it's also the rest of the costs that count. 130 from 50 people is also needed to cover the rest. matt is risking it by telling 50 people that if they put a deposit, he would cover the rest in hopes that the rest would get brought back when the 130 got paid.

when you come up with a new product, very rarely do you make profit in the beginning. it's always after the first batch that you start seeing some profit, as it's already started in a debt, putting money into R&D, molds, etc...
luckily, we're not so deep in R&D costs because the current rings fit nicely. it's the clips that don't.

 

If Marco could hit it any more on the head, I would think he was sitting there at the mold makers

Perhaps we need to put another post in the 5th gen forum. It's possible, however unlikely, that there are people there that don't know (or have forgotten) that this thread is going on. People who might be willing to put up the money.

If it comes down to putting up the rest of the $130 up front, I would be willing do so. Of course, for me, $200 is a drop in the hat. I dont know about the rest of the guys.

Got a few questions. If I get the Angel Eyes, will they be on at night along with my xenon headlights? How do I put them on during the day without having the xenons on? How do I take the face plate off of the headlights? Isn't that bad for the lights?

You can turn them on, via switch, via accessory power, via "on" position of the key.

i can't imagine anyone who owns a 5th gen not wanting these lights. i wish there were some plans for a 4th gen version of these lights

 

The angel eyes work for the 5th gen xenon housings because of the dual ROUND reflectors (a la BMW 5xx). The 4th gen housings (like the 00-01 5th gen) feature a single rectangular reflector. You would have to put a singe band around the rect opening. I am not sure at all how that would look.

I am surprised none of the manufacturers out there making aftermarket projector housings for Accord and Civic have included the 4th Max yet. It sounds like there would be a market for it.

 

will this fit on the I35 2002 model? do they have the same light?
and anyone else having prob. d/l movie files that shows how to install it on IS300 ?

 

I don't see why it wouldn't fit the I35 market.

Yes, download the IS300 one, it will give you a rough idea of what's required.

I want them but I don't want to install them. That is the prob. I would pay for them right now and pay someone to install them but since they are new hardly no one knows how to install them. I am really bad at installing that kind of stuff and I don't want to mess up my expensive headlights as it is if I try and F up.

 

don't know where you came up with no one knowing how to install these...these look like a joke to do....i think everything is a DIY and the only part where someone may get scared is separating the housing.

I don't intend to screw anyone over. That is why I'm moving ahead with plans to get shops on board that will charge reasonable rates ($50-100) for the installations - all over the country.

It's all a function of getting onto the mold maker's schedule.

The later we do it, the later and later it gets for the mold maker.

Keep doing the "Amway" thing but if it doesn't happen in two weeks, we'll have to pull back and try again at a later date.

Umnitza: Since it's about near the ending date for required deposits on the Angel-Eyes. Let me know as well as of others how many required deposits were recieved. If the required 50 isn't met. Then just refund my deposit (unless you have other ideas on hand on how to make this GD work) "No biggie" I can always wait for the next Angel-Eyes GD. "Let me know whats up"....

I had this same issue with teh IS300 guys. Now they are pleased as peach.

It's funny how everyone sits on the fence - it's ONLY $50, I can find that even when I was a 15 year old pimple faced dude in high school
