James could give me a quote on a plain black leather kit for a 4 door 1992 acura legend please.

 

Okay James I finally ran into a big chunk of change and will be ordering leather by the end of this month. I'm wanting the full leather package. The sides of these seats still will be vinyl so they can still stretch right? I have a grey Lustre 02 maxima w/ a grey interior. Planning on getting not straight black leather, but hopefully something a little lighter with a dark grey or silver flat centers. Do these flat centers just make sure the leather don't bunch up? I don't want anything hard in my seats. You mentioned to some people about getting swatches from local shops. Any located near 35242. Thanks James

Sounds good! The sides are vinyl which is very high quality so its difficult to even tell its not leather, but will provide a smooth tight fit cuz it will stretch for you. Flat just means exactly what it means...its flat and not pleated or gathered. Check out these shops for swatches but I wouldn't mention the fact that you're buying your kit online for a great price or they might tell you to take a walk.

Sorry...no can do on the logo due to copyright protection. I have already asked for both of those logos and was shot down numerous times. Basically Nissan WILL NOT ALLOW IT! If anyone copies this logo for any reason without their permission they will sue and I know I don't want to go up against their lawyers.

Well I contacted Nissan about this and am waiting for a reply.
As a 5th gen owner and this being a 5th gen logo I can't see why this would be a problem.
You are using a 4th gen logo (why is this okay with legalities?).
There are many companies that reproduce Nissan Logo, Maxima Logo, SE-R, etc. I can't see why this would be an issue. Were you stopped by your company or after contacting Nissan they said no? This is very strange and odd that Nissan would deny Free Promotion. No one would want to put a Nissan logo/Maxima logo on a non-Nissan car, so since it would be more promotion and uniqueness on their vechicles I can't see why they would stand in the way of this.
If Nissan says I am allowed to use this logo for my leather I will get this in writing and then can you do this for me?
I just can't see wanting to put a 4th gen logo(maxima) on a 5th gen car. And without anything at all seems a little plain and less customized.

I will keep this thread updated on my findings.

I understand your frustration, but we are limited somewhat. It's okay to embroider the old logos since they are no longer current and we have permission. The new agreement Nissan has is with Classic Soft Trim. CST can embroider their logos but only for the dealerships on new car sales only (pre-delivery). So really I can't do the 5th gen logo for anyone except the car dealers who sell Nissan.

you cant do the "MAXIMA" or the nissan emblem on the seats?

 

We can't embroider the 5th gen "MAXIMA" logo and we can't embroider the Nissan logo either. Pretty much we can do all others, but those are not available and probably won't be for quite a while if at all.

how long is the installation for installing urself?? by watching the instruction video?

was the video made for the exact model of the car?? or just like a comment instructions?

 

The video is about general leather install and the different types. They go thru 3 seats in the video which cover the different aspects of installing the leather seat covers. These aspects are commonly found on all seats its just a different shape and somewhat different to take apart. For the most part car seats are basically the same so the video really helps give you direction and confidence before tackling the job. All in all it should take you at least a good part of the weekend depending on how quick you pick it up. Also the video goes over 3 different door panels again these aspects are found throughout the automotive industry. Its really not that hard, but I can't tell how each person will handle it.

Maybe you can answer my question. I had asked this of leatherseats.com a while back and they didn't have a clue. I have a 98 GLE that I'm thinking of replacing the leather on. My question is about the side airbags. I'm planning on doing it myself when I get it but was unsure how the airbags are handled. You must have to take the airbag out of the seat to some point, even if you cut an X and tuck. I wanted to know before I went and ordered anything.
