great news!!!!
I have great news for everyone in the big brake group deal. This is unbelievable. our discount is now 15 percent. that means if you get the basic kit, which is very good, it will only cost 849.00. 15 percent off. So if you want the other upgrades, those kits will be 15 percent off too. Everyone can start calling Nick and make your orders. Fantastic deal!

hope those are the thin-walled 1.25" rotor. I've noticed some surface cracking issues with the heavy-wall rotors.. our cars just don't use that much rotor efficiently and the heat never gets completely through the rotor- just on the surface... thus the cracking.
As for pad compounds (for everyone buying wilwood).. I HIGHLY recommend running the Wilwood Q series pads for street use and the D compound for auto X and light road track use. heavy road track use should get the C compound pad.
STAY AWAY from the Hawk pads. the HPS is okay, but doesn't last very long and has fade problems on hard driving. the Hawk Black absolutely shews up the rotors. I ruined a set of rotors in under a week on Hawk Black pads.. they are more metal off the rotors than they did material off the pads. cut nasty deep grooves in the rotor too. I had to have the whole rotor milled 3/16" thinner in order to smooth them out enough to stick another set of temp pads on it until I could buy new rotors.
hope all that helps somebody here.

From my experience with the Fastbrakes kits... (your kits will depend on the size of the pistons, pads and rotor size but...)
I think the Poly D and E are a bit too agressive (plus they make a groaning noise when coming from about 5mph to stop. I like the Poly T much better for brake bias and noise(less)... I haven't personally tried the Poly Q though. Those with ABS needn't worry too much with brake bias.
Here's a tip to minimize squealing... sand the leading edge of the pads down a little at about 45 degrees.

Bit of a change in plans frm Precision Brakes!
Sup Fellas,
Just placed my order with Nick at Precision Brakes. He is actually very cool. he went over everything w/me and gave me all the different options.... this is a great deal fellas. He told me to tell everyone that instead of getting all the people who are interested to order first and then processing the orders all together at once, he will process the orders as they come in...so, I guess that means first come first serve! Call in ASAP as soon as possible if you are really interested and get it done and you'll get your brakes quicker!

Chunger, how would you compare the T to the D compound? I haven't tried the T stuff yet. on my second set of the Q compound...
the D compound only lasts a few weeks on my car. Bite is extremely aggressive, BUT they're the easiest wearing on the rotors I have seen yet. the rotors still looked almost new when I'd gone through two sets of D pads in 10 weeks. Now I just use them for Auto X on Sundays.

Aren't you running Dynalites? That's probably why you go through pads 'relatively quick'.

Poly T is quite a bit more tame compared to the Poly D... but they are SOOOO quiet. I think I wish they had more "bite" but maybe that's because I was running on the Poly E for a while. Maybe I'll try the Poly Q. I guess I may be collecting the whole set of virtually new pads in my room... At about $65 bucks a set, it ain't too bad though.

Chunger, yes, I'm using Dynalites. extremely small pad compared to Superlites. if the SLII would fit under my wheels I'd switch to them.. I may see if I can "borrow" one from the local race shop and see if they'll fit.
Q: Long lasting. easy on rotors.. heat induced fade after several HARD stops. use for daily driving and light auto X use. Ceramic compound pad. (probably Raybestos Quiet Stop compound, since they're made by raybestos and the "Q" doesn't hurt things much). Very little dust. the Porterfield R4S I'm using on the rears dust more than these do.
T: Basically the same as above, but I believe it's an organic pad (Chunger???)
D: VERY aggressive bite when warm, not to great when cold.. Great heat tolerance. I have yet to be able to make these fade, except after more 100-0 stops than my eyeballs could withstand. problems are dusting and wear. only last about 5 weeks per set on my car.
C: Same as above, but designed for a tad higher heat.
you can also get more descriptions of the pads on wilwood's website. www.wilwood.com

Your wheel clearance looks tight aready...Your mounting holes are 5.25" so none of the SL will work (3.5")... On the other hand... you can get one of the nice (read: expensive) calipers like the LC-GT. The others ones only use 1.38" thick rotors!
I'm not sure about the Poly T material. The Poly E appears more aggressive than the Poly D's despite the Cf plot on their Acrobat file. Maybe the Q is inbetween the T and D.

they had a set of billet superlites and a couple billet dynalites and cast dynalites in the counter.. since the billet superlites are HUUUUGE, I dunno about the regular ones. all the numbers match up to fit, but you never can tell until you bolt them up.
Hey guys. Does anyone have Nick's email address? I'm in the Air Force in Afghanistan and unable to call. Ordered my brakes about a month ago and needed to talk to Nick about it. Also, have you guys installed them yet? I won't be able to until I get back sometime this summer. Thanks

I got em!!
very cool looking stuff. Calipers look bigger than I thought they would be, rotors wider as wwell but the kicker is the hats...they are flat-out awesome, black anodized aluminum units with the white Wilwood logo in maybe half-inch letters twice around close to their outer edge where they marry the rotor itseld...serious kick **** stuff.
I'm having my rotors cad plated so that they stay looking well for centuries in the areas not wiped by the pads, also waiting on some instructions from Jonas and/or Nick and if they come thru it's Mod time this weekend...!
