Why don't you just post all the motor oil and the SDF 13 prices here?

Good idea...thanks! AMSOIL offers a very diverse product line and most of their lubricants are available in a variety of packaging, including individual qts, cases lots, gallons, 2.5 gal containers and larger. It would be difficult to cover all the possibilities, here...the AMSOIL Dealer pricelist is 16 pages long. But to give our readers an idea of my price structure, my cost/your price for a case of AMSOIL's original 100% synthetic motor oil (5w-30, 10w-30 or 10w-40) is $52.20 ($69.00 retail), a savings of approximately 25%. ATF is another popular item...my cost is $67.20/case ($92.40 retail), a 27% savings. My cost on the SDF-13 filter is $10.30 ($13.55 retail)..these are outstanding filters and are priced below the Mobil 1 filter sold at discount outlets. The only additional charges would be for local sales tax and shipping (UPS), both of which I would also have to pay if I were ordering the products for my own personal use..shipping on a case of oil is approximately $8.25. AMSOIL has 9 Product Centers strategically located across the country...I have all products shipped directly to the customer from the nearest Product Center...this assures customers of the freshest products, it expedites delivery, and reduces shipping costs. Hope this helps...Ed Anderson, Certified AMSOIL Dealer.

I know you said it comes from the nearest dist. center, but i live in Hawaii and shipping would kill me. Is it possible to buy it from you and pick it up at a retail outlet locally that sells it? Or is this only for those dealing with AMSOIL ONLINE sales?? Thanks in advance.

Does this help?

http://www.amsoil.com/distribution_centers.htm

I'm in California. There is no Distribution Center in California. If I purchase Amsoil products through you, Ed, do I have to pay sales tax?

Shipping to hawaii is difficult. I've sent some small items (oil analysis kits) to customers in HI by mail, but you are correct in that shipping for the larger items is outrageous. I believe there is a racing shop in HI that consolidates orders for folks...will see if I can find out more info for you and advise accordingly...Ed

You can certainly do that and save the shipping. Distribution Centers are located (West to East) in Anchorage AK, Portland OR, Las Vegas NV, Wichita KS, Dallas TX, Superior WI, Chicago IL, Orlando FL, Lancaster PA and Richmond VA. For our Canadian friends we have Distribution Centers in Edmonton and Toronto. If you are close to these locations I can arrange for you to pick up your orders and avoid the shipping. Ed

Depending where in CA you live, you will be serviced from either Portland OR or Las Vegas NV. Unfortunately, AMSOIL will collect applicable sales tax as there are AMSOIL dealers in every state (but most dealers don't sell for cost, as I do). Ed

Thanks, i'll be waiting to hear from you. And yes, I'm pretty sure that there is a racing shop that carries it. I'm on the island of Oahu, the main one. Gotta get some ATF.

ATF!

The ATF is an excellent price. Someone here wanted some serious cash (around $100) for a case of ATF. I'll be back here to order from you in a week or two. I'm located in NY and the s/h cost is not a problem for me.

AFAIK, the State of Oregon does not collect sales tax.

I'm going to call the AMSOIL Distribution Center in Portland OR for you on Monday...I believe shipments to HI come from that Product Center. They'll probably be able to provide the name of a source on Oahu...I don't know what they'll charge you, but at least I can advise you of a source. Ed

Maximum Velocity, the place that I go to buy my AMSOIL is Chuck's Corvette Clinic. He has everything that we need. Prices well not too bad.

Since there are AMSOIL Dealers in every state, tax is based on the address to which the products are being shipped (point of destination)...the Portland Distribution Center services the entire northwest. CA even requires AMSOIL charge CA sales tax on products picked up in Portland by Dealers who reside in CA...it's a rip. If you lived in Oregon, it would be a different story. I can send you a copy of AMSOIL's Sales Tax Policy statement if you wish. Sorry, but that's the best I can do... Ed

It appears as though they're charging retail price plus shipping. I can save you over $25 on a case. Ed

I live in Seattle. It would be a 3-hour drive to Portland to pick up the oil. As long as I dont have to pay for tax, I might want to choose pick-up instead of delivery.

(FACT)Pick-up orders are charged tax applicable to that point of sale (Portland OR...no tax).(FACT) WA has the same rule as CA concerning the collection of tax when "registered dealers" who reside in CA or WA pick up their orders from Portland...AMSOIL must collect tax from registered dealers even though they are picking up the order in Portland. Of course, in this situation, there is a record of where the dealer resides. Since you are not a registered dealer (AMSOIL will not know where you reside), you could possibly avoid the tax by picking up your order in Portland. I don't know if this will help with your decision, but operating hours for the Portland Product Center are as follows: Mon, Tues, Wed and Fri from 9 am ~ 5:30 PM and thurs from Noon til 8:30 pm. They are closed Sat and Sun. If you want to order, the best way to do it is to contact me by phone...best time to call is during the evening or over the weekend. Number here is 210-945-0399 (Central Time) Ed

I'm sure your source appreciates your business and provides good service...if you feel comfortable dealing with him, then you should continue to do so. I don't know of any specific rules concerning who can advertise in in the Group Deals section of the forum, but last I knew we lived in a free enterprise system, and that's what the advertisement section of forum is for.

You folks need to know that i do not do this for a living; I'm active duty military; I'm an automotive maintenance fanatic; I've owned Nissan's for > 10 years and currently drive a Maxima; and I've been using and selling AMSOIL for > 20 years...I firmly believe in the product and want to share it with my friends. I pay dealership fees to AMSOIL; I place ads at my personal expense in national publications; I perform detailed research and spend several hours of my personal time each week answering inquiries and placing orders for people around the country; and sell all products AT COST.

If I can help you, great; if you'd prefer to buy from someone else, that's fine too. Ed

Max,

I contacted the Portland OR Product Center (the one that services HI) and they advised me as follows: they do a group shipment (a couple pallets) each month to Chuck's Corvette Clinic (aka G & G Racing). Shipping charges are then divided among ordering dealers, depending on what they ordered. Chuck's/G&G is located in Honolulu and their number is 808-597-8147. According to the Portland Product Center, G&G stocks a pretty good inventory for resale, so they should have what you need. Sorry i couldn't help more... Ed

Yes, that's the place that I was talking about and as Devious previously mentioned. Thanks for the help. I guess it looks as if it's gonna be retail prices for us Hawaii people though right?

If I were selling to you, it would be for cost. However, as we discussed, it is nearly impossible for me to drop-ship to Hawaii. I don't know if G&G discounts the price, or not....Devious indicated the prices weren't "too bad"... Ed

The AMSOIL foam air filters are outstanding...I use one in my own car ('98 SE), and i have installed them in several others. K&N filters boast improved air flow (compared to std pleated paper filters), but you never hear them brag about their ability to stop dirt (efficiency) or about their dirt-holding ability (capacity)...that's because there's not much to brag about. Tests show AMSOIL filters greatly improve air flow, and they excel in their ability to both trap and hold dirt, contributing to reduced engine wear and longer oil life. In addition, they can be cleaned and re-oiled indefinitely, making them very economical over the long run. My cost (and yours) for the TS-74 is $24.30 ($32.30 retail) plus shpg & applicable sales tax. Call me at 210-945-0399 if you want to order. Ed/Certified AMSOIL Dlr.

I think i'm sold on this air filter. Tomorrow, I will go and return the crap i picked up at pep boys.

How would you rate cleaning and maintaining the filter? I do not like it when these filter manufacturers try to sell an additional oiling/cleaning kit with their products. I realize business is businees, and so, I will just maintain the filter by washing it and oiling it myself.

AMSOIL recommends you clean the filter annually or every 25,000 miles whichever comes first. Cleaning is accomplished with soap and water...i use dish soap and it works fine. AMSOIL does sell Foam Filter Oil for reoiling purposes, but this oil is not expensive...cost is only $2.80 ($3.55 retail) for an 8 oz bottle...a bottle will last you for several years. The advantage of using the foam filter oil in lieu of regular motor oil is that the FFO is very "tacky" and is designed not to run off the filter over time...it's about the consistency of honey. When applied to the hi-quality AMSOIL foam filter, it's very effective in stopping dirt. Let know if I can help...ed

Hi, Ed

Just read the whole thread and I noticed in one of your message that there is a distribution center in Toronto, Canada. Is it possible that I order/buy from you and pick up the goods in Toronto? Please give me some info on the price of 5W30 and the foam filter and the reoiling kit. Another scenario is that I can buy from you direct and you ship the goods to me via USPS. Any info on shipping cost will be appreciated. Thanks!

Do you maybe want to get a big group of people in on some AMSOIL stuff so that we can get the discount. I need to do a full maintenance run on my car this summer. Radiator flush, tranny flush, brake fluid change (cause of you know what..hehe).

Lets do it! I'm in for Tranny fluid and possibly anything else that sounds like a good deal.

I can facilitate your order with pick-up in Toronto. I don't believe USPS allows oil to be mailed, and it would also essentially double the shipping as I would first have to have the products shipped to me, then turn around and mail/ship it to you.

Canadian pricing is as follows: 5w-30 $82.80/12 qt case ($109.20 retail); TS-74 $39 ($52.50 retail); Foam filter oil $4.50 ($5.75 retail).

Let me know if I can help...if you wish to order, recommend you give me a call...best time to reah me is in the evening or over the weekend. Ed Certified AMSOIL Dlr, (210)-945-0399 (TX)
