GD on custom vinyl decals sets!!

Hi guys!

I have a new vinyl cutter at the office and I can hook all of you up with awesome prices. We can cut your custom designs or make one for you, with diferent fonts and shapes. We can also make wind shield banners, signs, and anything else that uses vinyl.

I have been thinking that we can charge a flat rate of $50 dollars per car for both sides of the car. The price can also vary depending on the over all size of the decals.

If anyone is interested please reply here or drop me an email at ionico@hotmail.com

Thanks!

slimer: Hi! What do you want your banner to say? how wide do you want it to be? I just started out with the vinyl decals, my fiance has a Graphic Desing studio and she just got the plotter so I thought that it would be great to offer this service to the org

geo1317: yea that's a good idea, I will make a prototype set and see what everyone thinks about it.

I am also going to try to make some cool sigs like "Maxima parking only" or some thing nice for our cars.

Thanks!

i'm not sure if they're ricey or not, but what about those stickers people put in their spoiler lights that say the kind of car or whatever? i notice when i apply my brakes, people in the cars behind me faces get lit up. so maybe this would dim it a lil and look cool.

not sure if you guys like it or not, but for example, the back of pontiac sunfire's or whatever they are, when it just says pontiac lit up, it looks kinda cool. could look ricey on ours, i'm not sure, just an idea.

Hi guys!!

Please post some pics of what type of eyelids you would like to be made. I'm also up for some mean ****ed off type looking ones

Slimer: I checked my windshield and the blue strip on the top of it is 7" thick, would you like some thing thiker or would that be fine? I think that it would look awesome.

Blackmax69: If you can ship your altezza light to me I can make a set to cover them up like the skyline and I would install them for you also.

97blackSE: What would you like your window stickers to say? how what size would they be?

Soybenz: post some pics up (and I just replied to your email)

Jepht20: Wow that sounds like a good idea, I'm also going to work on that.

Keep those ideas coming!!

I just want everyone to keep in mind that WE CAN MAKE ANY DESIGN AND IN ANY COLOR, anything in vinyl that anyone else is making.

Thanks guys!

eyelids would be tough to put over the headlights especially when they have those lil studs.

I bought Wade headlight covers and painted my eyelids on.. refer to pic below.

http://images.cardomain.com/member_i...998_1_full.jpg

Also... does anyone know where I can get actual headlight covers that will possibly wrap around the headlight a bit. The Wade ones are just "shields" and not really covers.

I've been thinking about those little studs also and I came up with the next idea. You have two options, you can either wrap the vinyl around them or you can eliminate those studs with a dremel tool. I am going to do that with my headlights.

Slimer: I just sent you an email.

Thanks!

I guess the dremel idea is a good one since the vinyl will cover it anyway. One detail you shouldn't overlook to keep a clean feel: make it so that the vinyl wraps around the sides and top of the headlight lens.. not just cover the front, because especially in show settings with strobes or when showing off the car at night, light WILL be visible and give that "incomplete" and "cheap" feel to it.

to give you an idea of what i mean.. refer to this design (NOT TO SCALE)

Perfect!! I will get to work on it tomorrow and there is no problem with having just five stickers made.

geo1317: Thanks for the pic

max002: I will do that, I don't want to be selling stuff that people will be unhappy with, thanks alot with the heads up and for helping me make a good quality product.

here's what my eyelids actually looked like before i crashed and wrecked my front end:

very sexy if you ask me... i let my brother drive in my car behind me as I was driving my dad's van.. man oh man, the intimidation factor really gets bumped up a whole lot with this style. It's like a quasi S15/'98 240sx/Skyline thing going on...

This was spraypaintd on a headlight cover though.

when doing that, i think it leaves that nasty gap when the hood is down...if it does, u gotta any ideas on how to eliminate that gap? thats one of the reasons i'm real picky about eye lids....

What gap are you talking about? There aren't any gaps between the headlights and the hood because there is some wheather stripping in between them.

Take care!

Jose.

I would also like some eyelids made.... in either aggressive form or regular sleepy form. I would just like the eyelid to go over the headlight and the corner light. The ones that just go over the headlight don't look good IMO.

i like your lids except it is much like djshawnee was saying, they do not cover the corner lights , if we can get some that would look like yours, but that covered the corner lights, (like the ones in my Photoshop) it would be PERRRRRRRfect!

meccanoble - i know what you're saying.. that's why i advised Jose to make those tabs. There's hardly any gap between the hood and lights, but light DOES seep through depending on how tyour headlights are aimed.

djshawnee - I wish I had pictures of it covering the corner lights as i did have it like that initially and thinnered the spraypaint off and re-did it.

It really is all about personal taste. In the daytime I love the way it looks covering the corner lights, but at night it makes a big difference... partially because once the eyelid reaches the cornerlight, the intensity of the light blurs that thin edge and it starts to look really fake. Also, i wanted a straighter and steeper edge instead of a curvy one.

I'm pretty sure the stickers can be made so that they are slightly larger as to accomodate customization. With a vinyl sticker all it takes is a nice exacto blade.

I think as long as those tabs to prevent light seepage are figured out, then you'll have a nice quality product.

As far as color.. can you get colors close to Neptune Blue or Majestic Blue... and harder colors like Arctic White or Pebble Beige.. matching will be tough... but I didn't mind my eyelids the first time when they were black and my car is neptune blue.

I'm working on the vinal right now, I'm just waiting to get my car back and install it.

Any updates Jose?

I think I have 2 or 3 people in my car club that are interested in single color vinyl graphics for their cars, they're smaller cars though. I'm in charge of all the graphics aspect of our car club so I want to place an order on some stickers. Do you have a form or some way of ordering?

I'm finally going to have pics of the eye lids tomorrow afternoon. They have been a PITA to prototype due to the fact that it's really hard to get the vinyl to line up with the edge of the lens and the rear housing. I am also doing a step by step wite up on how to install them. I'm also going to come up with some other cool vinyl pieces for out cars I will keep everyone posted.

Thanks!

Jose.

Hi guys! It's been a little harder than I thought it would be, but we have come up with a two piece design that will eliminate any gaps or wrinkles

Here are two prelimenary pics: http://www.ionicdynamics.com/Eyelid.html

Please keep in mind that these were hand cut and that I should have the final set tomorrow. I will have some pics with some black vinyl tomorrow also.

Thanks!

Very nice... I just hope you can match it to that nice blue car (because mine is that color too ). Any hopes of finding similar colored vinyl?
