Precision Brakes big brake kit -another problem!
Precision Brakes big brake kit -another problem!
Well, this afternoon I got home and saw a brand new box from Precision Brakes...open it up and there are two new aluminum hats with 3mm less offset but no new spacers that are 3mm narrower and I say 'uh-oh....'
Sure enough, no can do. These spacers fit between the caliper and the caliper mounting bracket and because the new hats move the rotor 3mm out, I should have been sent new spacers that locate the caliper 3mm farther outboard as well. No new spacers sent and the result is that the calipers are so far in versus the rotor that I cant slip the pads into the caliper on the outboard side of the rotor.
Less patient email than last time's already sent to Precision Brakes.
Oh, well, that's what I get for being a Beta site.

You don't need to get that nasty with them.. you can just add 3mm worth of washers on either end of the bracket to move it temporarily, then KINDLY tell them they forgot to ship the spacer parts.
Matt...you're right, of course; I thought about
that as well but decided against it...quick fix but...I hate re-dos.
Hey, dont sweat, I sent them an okay email plus I talked with them (Jason and Daryl) both today. We laughed like heck, we're cool...they're sending the trimmed spacers out tomorrow PM, should be finally a slam-dunk to install this weekend...
