For now that's is the only downfall of the techno ecu. It does not raise your rev limiter so if you are sure that you're going buy a MEVI than you're better off purchasing a JWT ecu.

Quick question, I have a 98 gxe and I heard that it is possible to use a 95/96 modded ecu, is this true? If so what kind of stuff will I need to adapt it to my car and where is a good place to get the core unit to get modded?

I am going to have to wait to see if this ECU is safe to run with nitrous. If someone could let me know either way it would help. Above is an updated list.

about 15hp. It's pretty nice if you don't want to go down the 6bills for the other ECU plus the 500+ for the MEVI route.

I don't know if i can do this yet, but just a quick question. Can they do a core charge type of thing. Like I pay for the ecu and the modifications then when i have the technoquare ecu I send them mine and have them credit my credit card so I have no down time. That would be great

This deal may only happen once in a great while, but you can fix that damage anytime down the road. I have a dent in my door, but if this deal goes through, the dent can definitely wait.

I have some ?s 1st:

where is a good place to get a spare ecu for the downtime? junkyard I'm assuming.

I'm from Ontario Canada, does this pose any complications for the gd?

What's the process? Do I mail in my ecu to Technosquare with $380? Is $380us the correct price?

Is the reprogramming done on the assumption that the max is bone stock, or tweaked with the assumption of the standard bolt-ons being present?

Thanks.

Junkyards work for a spare ECU. Talk to nanomax96 or Technosquare about the cross-country issue. And yes, you mail your ECU to Technosquare, they reprogram it and sent it back. As for payment, we don't know what to do yet; that'll be clarified. And if you have bolt ons, it shouldn't affect the ECU as they're adaptive.

Is it ok to send in my current ECU for the flash instead of getting a spare one?

What is the spare ECU needed for besides not having the downtime or for as a backup?

Yes, you can send your current ECU and have downtime. Spare ECU is needed only if you don't want any downtime.

Here's a dump of his responses to my questions.

I am not aware of any deal going on with the Maxima as for right now.

1. Since you are in Canada, your shipping charges will be slightly higher
than normal. The $380 is for the 50 US states. I would say ~ $400 to
Canada.

2. Yes it does, No NOS, No force induction

3. We usually keep the ECU here for 1-2 days and ship it back out on the
2nd day.

4. The biggest noticeable gains are from 2500-4500, HP and Torque are
somewhere in the 15-20 range.

5. Yes, it's just plug and play.

6. If you have a 97 Maxima and you run a 95/96 you might see a CEL. This is
due to an extra 02 reading that has to do with emission. It will not hurt
your motor in any way or decrease performance.

7. No it doesn't

8. Provided that you have all emission related parts (ie cats) on your car
and your car is in good running condition, it shouldn't have any problems
passing emission.

9. No the dealer can not erase it. It has a physical daughterboard added
onto the ECU.

Danny.

You only need a spare ecu if you don't want your car to be down during the upgrade progress. If you don't mind waiting the turnaround time, then you can just send in the ECU straight out of your car to Technosquare.

As for shipping, I'm not 100% sure but I'm guessing we would be responsible for arranging the shipping of the ECU to Technosquare, and they will ship it back to us for no extra.
