Yes give them a call before you show up and about having to fill out the info. sheet I would ask them over the phone see what they want. Their number is on the info. sheet. But for sure you will have to let them know your part of this group deal and what your screen name is so they can check you off the list.

Thanks for the update and all your work you put into this group deal. I hope it will be ok if I send my ECU around late May because I still need to find a '96 ECU and save up some money till than. Thanks

just spokw wit TS, the rev limiter would not be worked on until they have a test car. So they don't know when that would be done. If anybody is interested in going down there maybe you can call them up and arrange something. I really hope they can do it soon cuz that would help my vi a lot...

Also found out about return shipping. If you are paying with credit, they will add that to your card if you want next day shipping on the return (but the $380 as far as he told me would include 2nd day return). If you were paying with money order, if you want next day, you can call them and arrange the price or $380 (thats if I heard right from him). You can also write youe credit card info on the sheet you printed out too if you don't want to wait for them to call you.

I was wondering are we actually suppose to take the motherboard out of the casing or is it just the brackets that we are suppose to do? I took out my ecu/pcm and didnt know if we are just suppose to send in the curcuit board? Oh yeah that was a pain in my *** taking that thing out.

No you send in the whole ECU. If you send in just the board it could run the risk of begin damaged.

picked up my spare ecu yesterday. swapping out my original ecu is turning out to be a major pita. What did you guys do - take out the bracket first and then the ecu, or did you take out the 4 screws and slide the ecu out, leaving the bracket in place? If you left the bracket in place, what did you use to get to the back 2 screws - they are a beetch.

i just took out the whole bracket. Thats easier in my opinion. But i agree it is a pain in the arsh. I wanted to blow up my car because i was so ****ed because of how difficult they make it to take out the ecu. but after a hour i finally was able to get it out. I dont know if im going to put the bracket back in or not. I might just put the ecu back without the bracket.

bad idea.. ECU could move around.. can cause damage to the ECU.. you never kno.. maybe even static.. bracket was made to keep it from moving.. put the bracket back.. even tho its a pain in the ***..

k thanks topdog. It looks like just 2 bolts at the front that's holding the bracket in place, correct?. I need a longer ratchet to get at the right one. The other pita are all the wires looped and twist-tied to the bracket. damn.

I'm going to do a writeup for this when I setup my cardomain site.

yeah its just the two center bolts. Then all you will have to do is cut the zip ties on the bracket that holds all your wires. after that its good

just went for a test for about an hour around town. You can definitely feel an increase of power especially mid range 3500-5000rpm. I was suprise that I could break my tires loose even with a bad clutch from 1st to 2 nd where before I couldn't do so. It was a great investment now if they could only raise the rev limiter...

Wow, you got your ecu returned pretty quick. Gotta love the service. Jcy98maxse how is the low range power now? Did you get a CEL since you have a '98? Glad you like it, hope to get mine at the end of this month.

Yea I did and still do but it hasn't seem to affect any performance. My codes were MAP barrow (unrelated to the 96 ecu), Knock sensor and rear o2. Also threw a fuel pump circuit fault. But I am very happy with the upgrade. BTW I sent mine out on Thurs the 29th just to let you guys know how fast they got back to me with in. I am also planning on dynoing it this coming 2 months and maybe tunning it with my SAFC (if needed) and seeing the diffrence between my 98 ecu and this one.
Low range is there, I have really launched it yet but from a roll you can still feel the power increase but you'll feel it the most during midrange. I have VI so I know its helping there also even without the raise limter.

Yea I know how that feels, I just bought a Hella HID kit. Paid them on the 29th and haven't heard from them yet so I'm crossing my fingers and hoping I didn't get screwed

I got mine back Monday and installed it right away.I can definitly tell a differance in midrange.I've done the drop resistor mod and now it will chirp the tires all the time when I hit second.Another thing I noticed is running at highway speeds you don't need to give it too much petal for the car to pick up speed.definitly worth the money! Can wait for them to raise the rev limiters so I can invest in a VI!
