GD: DMS VQ Crank Pulley With Belts $80

This is a group buy for DMS Crank Pulleys. These are $80 shipped. The reason for the low price is that I have some pulleys that are scratched and cannot sell. This will not affect performance, and they will carry the full manufacture warranty. This is still the lightest pulley on the market and will offer the biggest performance gain. I will include belts for an additional $40, I use only Bando belts. Email me at nick@dmsperformance.com to purchase or for questions.

Thanks,
Nick

I can take pics of what the scratches will look like when I get to work next week. Belts are not an extra $40, they are just $40 if you want them, you dont have to buy them through me. If you have a VQ35 you only need a single belt which is $25.

I forgot to mention, there is silver, black and blue.

Thanks,
Nick

Definitive Motorsports (DMS) makes a great pulley and Nick was great to deal with. I've had my pulley installed about a year ago and have had no problems at all. (I also had a great installer, Jeff at Maximum Tuning).

maybe i am confused over the article, but its to my understanding the VQ30DE doesn't have a harmonic damper. its an internally balanced engine therefore all it has is a crank pulley. small block chevrolets have harmonic balancers on the front of their engines to balance them, but maybe a harmonic balancer and a harmonic damper are different? this is just how i understand it, if i'm wrong please set me straight because i may be interested in the pulley.

DMS Pulley -
592 grams without timing ring
Motostorm Pulley -
571 grams without timing ring

Also we found in our testing that the DMS pulley was 4 thousandths to small to fit onto the crank snout. Just letting people know what Motostorm research found. Questions feel free to contact me.

Do you have any proof of your pulleys weight? Why did you choose to come to my GB and post all this useless info. Our pulley is not too small to fit on the crank snout, it fits perfectly into Maximas.

You guys also copied our pulley, because Brentt Sandstrom, ownder of Motostorm bought my pulley from me with the timing ring for his Maxima, or should I say to duplicate it.

So please post else where and keep your jibberish in my group buys to a minimum. I have sold dozens of these pulleys and have had less problems than UR pulleys on the Altimas board which you can check.

Stock size??

Nick, same question I asked on the "other"thread.

Quote:
I would like to have one of these IF it was stock size and the same price. No underdrive for me. I'm auto, so really just looking to chop the 4+ pounds off.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Do you guys have stock size or have any plans on making one??

Mike

Pulleys

This is the scratches I am talking about, it is just bad anodizing job and will not affect anything except lower the price.

Not to visible, but same thing here.

Are the belts that you are offering a different size from the originals? Basically what I'm asking is can you re-use what is on the car when installing the pulleys?

This pulley does need one new belt for the VQ35 and two new belts for the VQ30 because this pulley is under driven. The colors available are silver, black and blue.

Well, that's kinda funny. I just got my DMS pulley today. I weighed it without the timing ring on a scale at my grandfather's office: 572.0426 grams
My grandfather is a sugeon. The scale I weighed it on is HIGH dollar, serviced every week like clockwork, and his patient's health depend on it's accuracy. So way to be respectful and accurate on your post-*****-ish post
Thanks for the great deal Nick

Well, the DMS pulley install went really well. Contrary to what PHS stated, the pulley fits perfectly on the crank snout. Install was a breeze.

RESULTS: My car feels more stable/eager at 1k-2k rpms in 1st and 2nd gear than it did before. An example is when I come to a near-complete stop, then take off in 2nd, I don't have to press down on the gas pedal nearly as much as I used to. For some reason my shifts are alot firmer than before. The weird thing that I did not expect was the gain during highway driving. It seems as if some of the dead spot(high rps) is gone in 3rd and 4th on the highway. I'm overall satisfied with the pulley and the ease of installation. Thanks again Nick.

I asked for no specific color and recieved a blue pulley. IMO Who really gives a damn what color it is. No one will really see it. Blue one performs the same as black or silver

yeah, I bought one with "scratches" on it. It actually has one surface scratch about 3/16" long. It's barely noticeable. I'm happy with it.

You could barely even see the pulley once it's installed. I could gouge it with a screwdriver and you wouldn't notice once it's on the car. Unless you're building a show car I wouldn't worry about it in the least.
