Considering..

I am strongly considering it, what kind of process would be involved to get these babies installed on my i30. Would I need to find an electrician, buy extra parts, etc?

Thanks,

Mike

Hmmm.... VB mod or Smoked Cefiros???

I think I'm gonna go with VB mod. But, for future reference, has anyone had problems with inspections/cops with these installed? Anyone specifically in VA? I think someone mentioned it eariler, but no answer was ever given.

Thanks, and for a great deal!!!

Sorry I didn't get back to this post...wasn't paying attention to it.

Anyway, the curve of the lights isn't the same as stock but close. You can get the ends to sit flush, but the middle will curve out a tiny bit. It actually doesn't look bad at all, but the fitment isn't the same. As far as OEM, they are produced in the same plant as OEM IIRC. Ian did not have any complaints with the beam pattern, and was quite please going with the H4 bulb. As far as the smoking, the actual plastic lens itself is clear. The housing parts are painted black instead of chrome. The reflectors are clear/chrome. Some of the pics I posted don't do the lights justice, and the high contrast makes the headlights look darker than they really are. Either way if anyone has more questions, please PM me since I'm not the one selling these, nor do I really visit the group deal section all that much.

Dollar Dollar bills yall Cash sent. Hey I got one quick question that I don't I have seen mentioned on this deal is what is the turn around time from payment to headlight heaven??? Are they here in US or where? I just want to know. I have seen the Y-pipe GD they have been waiting......a long time!
Just to have a ballpark time frame so people don't say " Chino Where are my lights it has been 2 days?" But with a deal like this It will be worth the wait!!!

Lights will be sent out as soon as the 10 orders have been place therefore even you're first in paying...you still have to wait till the last one pays so we can get them at $230

I might be in, but can anyone answer my question about inspections. Has anyone had any problems with them getting inspected or cops giving fixit tickets? Is this one of those 'for off-road use only' type things? I don't want to spend $230 for something that will just be more hassle than its worth. Ya know?

Thanks,
drew

chances are you wont get pulled over with them, they look nearly OEM, and if you have HIDs, if these are really Nissan ones the beam pattern is much better so its less likely

BUT if you do get pulled over, these lights do not have the DOT number... an **** cop will point that out and he can ticket you

I'm still really wondering who exactly makes these lights and really really would appreciate pictures of the beam pattern of these actual lights

I have credit cards and such that i can charge this on, but really ive been trying to pay these things off for the longest time. I hope i can get all my money in soon because i really need some new headlights, but i have to take care of some things first. If i dont get in on this GD ill probably have to wait until the next one. I really hope there are more confirmed buyers so that no one has to wait for me. i would feel bad you know. if there are still buyers missing in a couple weeks and i havent got my cash, then i guess ill use a credit card as much as i dont want to. where are these being shipped from anyway?

Any information regarding where one can get the proper harness to allow these to work in an i30/max?

Virtually any auto parts store will have the connector with wires that will plug onto the H4 bulbs these headlights require. I've seen them at autozone, advanceauto, and walmart. You cut off your stock bulb connector and splice in the one for H4 bulbs. Personally I make my own relayed heavy gauge wire harness and I don't have to cut up the factory harness. FWIW I recommend philips vision plus or osram silverstar H4 clear bulbs- both for the euro market but available on Ebay.

Do you use something like bayonet or spade connectors to tap into the 9004 socket?

I cut up an old 9004 bulb assembly for the connection end (toss out the bulb). Solder some 16 gauge wires to the three terminals to run to a pair of relays. I use hotmelt glue to seal up the soldered wires. Some styles of 9004 bulbs are much easier than others to do this. This set up allows a plug in solution. I then run a fused 12 gauge wire direct from the output of the alternator to the pair of relays. I also run a 12 gauge wire from each bulb to ground. +12v from the relays for high/low circuits is also 12 gauge wire. All wire is soldered to connectors or butt splices as required. All this to insure each bulb sees its operating voltage (13.5V) for maximum output. More info on relay wiring at: http://www.danielsternlighting.com/t...ys/relays.html

An alternative is to purchase a ready made relay harness that will accomplish the same thing.

well, at da beginning of da thread it said 5 ppl was $250 but that would mean da 5 would have to send 20 more bucks each. But we shouldn't settle for that and get these other 5 paid especially since Chino said there were 10 "specifically" ordered for this GD. cant let them go to waste.

Some people are waiting to seehow much all of the extras will cost. Most GDs on these type of lights include bulbs nd harnesses. This one does not. Noone knows how much extra they will have ot lay out to finish the project.

I am not even one of the people who said that they were "in," but I know someone who is and he is waiting on the info before sending his money.

$230 is fine fo rthese lights, but if you have to drop another $100 on bulbs/harnesses/misc, it gets really expensive quick and it might make more sense to just buy them in kit form elsewhere.

I am not advocatig that action, just explaining what may be on the monds of some people.
