An installation of this alarm has been completed on a 2001 SE. The owner of the "donor car" allowed me to have extra time with the car, so pictures were taken. A write-up will soon follow, as I collect and organize the pictures. For security reasons, the location of the brain of the alarm will not be shown. The siren wiring will also not be shown, but will be explained. I will get them uploaded and online within the next few days, which should be before you get your alarms.

Note: The color charts by DEI may or may not be correct. If you have an older color chart, please obtain a new one before you attempt your install. When I originally installed my 800 ESP in my 2002 SE, I had 3 color charts with 3 different wiring colors. I had to use the ESM in conjunction with the color charts to document the correct colors.

just a question, this 551 module, how do u install it? does it hook up to the ecu or to the brain of alarm?

Alex, thanks for setting up such a great deal. I have one quick question to those that know a lot about alarms. How does this alarm compare to a Compustar 2WFM-AS?

If this alarm is better in more ways than the Compustar, I will be sending you money.

 

Nathan, there isn't a single person I know with a compustar, so I really can't compare. Since DEI is in Phoenix, everyone buys/owns Viper alarms. To date, I have owned 14 different Viper alarms on my cars, and every single one has worked absolutely beyond perfection (hence my want for another new one). So I can't really compare the two, but I can tell you from my personal experience, I don't plan on switching alarm companies any time soon.
