well keep us posted at least....maybe u can pull it at a slightly higher price than 695? around the 725 range maybe? i dunno....i am just real interested in this header thats all....until HS fixes their fitment issues and guarantees it...i am sprung on these cattman headers.....

I'll do some kind of promotion, it just can't be at the $695 price with the US$ as weak as it is.

Paired with the MEVI it sounds even better. The headers and cat-back are top quality in fitment and finish.

if you are running a turbo setup, then you need a custom y-pipe for a turbo (because a turbo is ran by exhaust gasses). these headers are good for a supercharger setup not turbo, a supercharger is belt driven and needs no modifications to the exhaust.
Here's a couple clips of my setup:

When I arrived home tonight I ear a clunk which I normally dont, I've check underneath the car and apparently the resonator and B pipe are due for an upgrade, so I'm thinking of buying the cattman headers and cat-back at the same time, so who can make me the best deal ? You can pm me or e-mail at: andre@3diweb.com

New Cattman header deal...
For those who subscribed to this thread, but missed out on the last Cattman header GD, check out the GD forum because we're running a "pre-sale" leading up to the arrival of the next batch in early October.

Wow this is an old thread. I can only wish that Brian would discount the new one's by $100 again, when they are ready.
Airness: I believe if you get the Cattman headers you will not need your y-pipe as the headers come with its own distinctive y-pipe.

Anyone heard of new developments on the production?
snolife: Wat u mean i dont need the y-pipe?Evrybody saying that the y-pipe can give more HP but the thing is its hard for me to install the headers i bid one on ebay but i didnt won the headers and y-pipe ill try again next time to bid but i think im just gonna bid wit y-pipe only!. Any idea how much it cost to replace the old headers with aftermarket headers?

I'm glad to say that this project is moving along well. I expect to receive the first production set later this week for installation and approval. Once that's done (including any small adjustments that might be necessary) we go into full production.
Obviously unforeseen things can come up, but I don't anticipate any obstacles to bringing these online before the end of July. We'll fill the backorders first, but production should be pretty constant into the future.
Our introductory price will be $799. Won't know the shipping costs until I know what it weighs and the size of box required.

Just so there's no confusion...
Its not possible to combine a set of our header manifolds with the performance y-pipe that you'd install to replace your stock y-pipe. Since our header manifolds are completely different than the stock pair, the y-pipe connecting them has to be a different configuration. Plus, we use equal length runners in the header version that you don't need in a regular performance y-pipe.
I'll also mention that a Cattman performance y-pipe (used with stock headers) will make between 12-15whp on a VQ30DE. That's all you can expect from a y-pipe; suggestions that they will make more are not correct. A Cattman header set (manifolds and their y-pipe, intro price will be $799) on your car would typically make between 18-22 whp. You get about 50% more power for a little over double the price and 2-3x the installation time. Some will think that's worth it, and others won't.

Brian,
Hope all is well. I also hope I'm still on the list for this part. If I'm not mistaken it's a combination of y-pipe and headers, so it would go quite nicely with the fastcat and catback I got from you a couple months ago. (which, btw, look and sound very very nice)

Hey guys:
For us So Cal people, can we pass emissions with the headers installed? I really want these headers but I think it would be too cumbersome (and expensive) to put the stock manifolds back on every 2 years.
I'm thinking that it should pass the tail pipe portion of the exam (with the primary cat in place) but I"m sweating the visual inspection. Would the OEM heatshield(s) do a good job of 'hiding' the headers?
It's hard to believe that all the Maxima dudes in So Cal are taking their headers off every 2 years. How are you guys pulling this off?

Did not know we had a memeber in Hermosa Beach, you should come out to our meet in July. See this: http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=478128

I'd be thrilled to attend the next meet.
I've been lurking on this board for a little while but I'm still a newbie to the Maxima world. I have so many questions as to what I can get away with here in California.
I'm about to pull the trigger on the headers but I just need to be sure about certain things. If discretion is a factor, please feel free to PM me with any useful tips.
Also, I need to hook-up with an honest and competant mechanic to assist me with my A32 (exhaust/suspension) mods. Recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for a cool board.

I have no reason to doubt that Brian is a courteous and knowledgeable fellow but he lives in AZ.
I was hoping that a So Cal resident could chime in because if it's a P.I.T.A. to pass, I might be in need of a local "header friendly"
smog shop.
My decision to purchase these headers is hinging on this.
Thanks everybody.

anyways, these guys really don't care...they just pop open yer hood..hook up some wires...run it on the dyno and if you pass, then u pass....simple as that...
hopefully you can make your decision without too much contemplating...they are definitely worth it....if you want, check out the clip in my signature for a taste of how they sound!

I don't need to live in California to be familiar with the experiences of my Cali customers and aware of Cali vehicle emissions regs. Obviously you've got three potential issues, 1) making sure there's no CEL when you go to test, 2) passing the sniffer test, and 3) passing visual.
#1 is not an issue if the part's properly installed
#2 should not be an issue if your main cat is working properly
#3 is a real variable, but based on the comments in this thread and the experiences of our Cali customers, there's nothing difficult about finding a performance-friendly shop that will overlook the visual side.
Keep in mind that there are many Cali y-pipe owners that face basically the same thing you would with headers - one or both pre-cats have disappeard and they have a visible non-stock part on their car.

jump on these guys! the quality is great!!! made by the same manufacture as the catbacks that he has been selling for years now and is known for their fit and finish and above all sound! I should have a video clip comparing stock y pipe, unresonated straight pipe, and cattman catback on here soon, and then a comparison with these gen 2 headers with the same setup....and then again with my electric exhaust cutout dumping right after the headers...sounds amazing--think jgtc vq30tt equipped 350z's...! the sound alone is worth every dime...not to mention that at a local socal maxima dyno day, I put down more power with the same mods as many 4th gens did on my 5th gen at 5000 rpm's then they did at peak...too bad I found out my VIAS was broken...but it still put down better #'s than all but 2 of them with the cutout closed...! lol...
if you must know with my variable manifold broken...I put down 194@5K and 210ft.lbs/tq...granted it was on a dynapack...but my #'s were just as inflated as everyone else who I beat out that day...and the weather was piping hot to boot...with my vias working I would easily have made 220whp before tuning!

Maybe if Brian can do another "deal", maybe more people would jump on it. I know another Maxima dude who is cheap, but it is what it is, I guess. Im all for it if I can save a few bucks, the two of us have talked about this already. I guess sometimes to play you gotta pay.

how's it looking Brian?
