i have a newb question, what do you mean by 'rebuilding the strut'? is that only for coilovers?

It applies to non-coilovers also. Higher quality cartridges can be opened, reworked, and then sealed again. That allows you to change valves, replace seals & fluid, etc. as it wears out.

But these should last the lifetime of the car no?

The shocks/struts should last about 2-3 years of optimal performance. After that, you'll lose enough dampening to feel it. Then again, at $100 per rebuild of each of four, that's only $400 for a for all intents and purposes, a new coil over setup. 2-3 years is just an average. It all depends on the road conditions (potholes), miles, weather, etc.

The spring rates are 9KF/7KR. You can get any spring rate you would like with this buy. I believe the plates adjust close to 3 deg..

Correct. Give me a call 919-383-4605 or shoot me an email.

We should have our dealer program and national advertising going by next summer so expect to pay around $1000.

Hi Mike, I'm the guy that called earlier today regarding things like spring rate. At about 503 lb/in front and 391 lb/in rear which is 9kf and 7kf, I'm a little concerned that that will be more spring rate than I want. I"m sure you don't literally mean that I "can get any spring rate". Could you please list the available spring rates?

if it makes you guys feel any better, the spring rates for the A2's are at 9kg-F/6kg-R. So the default spring rate for the D2's are relatively close to that.

I just put in an order, Can't wait to get my suspension replaced...going for the more stock feel of a 7/5 spring rate.

Larry, you going to have RPM install yours? I am thinking of going with them.

7/5 is what I want, or maybe 6/5

(eventually )

The spring rates go in 1kg/mm incriments. The most common ones are:
5k (280 lb)
6k (336 lb)
7k (392 lb)
8k (448 lb)
9k (594 lb)
10k (559 lb)

These are the most comon ones. However, are these the only ones available? Optimally, I would like spring rates of around 500 lb/inch front, and 350 lb/inch rear. I wouldn't so much mind going up to 7kg/mm or 392 lb/inch for the rear springs, but for the front, from 448-594 is a HUGE jump.

I think he switched the 9k and 10k

9k would be about 559lb, and the 10 would be 594lb...

I would also like to know.....if I go with a lower spring rate than default, will it effect how well the coilover will handle? I am thinking of maybe getting a softer spring rate since evrybody says it rides very similiar to stock. But I don't want the coilover to handle like **** u know?

UrbanImport, can I still order a different spring rate? Or did you already place the order with default spring rates?

1kg/mm = about 56 lb/inch so 10kg/mm = about 559 and 9kg/mm = 504... he meant 504 not 594.

here's what he meant:

5k (280 lb)
6k (336 lb)
7k (392 lb)
8k (448 lb)
9k (504 lb)
10k (559) lb

I would like to know how the dampening is on these coilovers, I talked to a friend and he said that the dampening wasn't very good on D2s...i.e. very bouncy ride. Anyone can vouch for that? He is a big suspension guy so I would like to know your guys' opinions.

Sorry for not getting back to everyone sooner. The group buy is closed, I have put in the order with D2. We had one customer cancel so there is one more set of 00+ Maxima available if anyone wants it. The order is being put together right now and should ship from D2 shortly.

Momaxima- what kind of car does your friend have? We have sold over 200 sets of D2s across the board and not had any complaints about the dampening.

Hey Mike, he has an eagle talon awd turbo. I think he called you about an application for talons, but yeah he said that. Only 1 opinion though, do you have any customer feedback?
